Dime scale is good (been thinking about building the Comet D-VII), or perhaps post-WWII air racing?  I'd love to build Jackie Cochran's Thunderbird using the Golden Age kit, or Beguine, #57 F2G from John Bell's plan, or maybe even a more modern racer like Super Corsair.

Lots of great colors and interesting mods in the air racers.

Cheers,

Mike

Lots of great ideas fellas... I'm partial to:
1. Bush planes
2. Airliners
3. Mystery Planes
Not necessarily in that order.

I think that LastWoodsman had a great suggestion for a cookup. How about one of the planes in the "Can You Name This Plane" thread? Pick your favorite; any model type (FF, R/C, C/L ...), any size, any source (kit, plan, self-designed), scale or "stand-off" scale.

Most Cookup require at least 5 committed members to start a Cookup.

The only way a Cookup could separate all the builds into different threads would be to make a separate Cookup board that would make it possible to do what you ask.  Not impossible to do, just not usually done on most sites, such as HPA and SFA.

I like several of your ideas.  I still have to finish my float plane MC72.... hopefully having put it aside I'll be able to go back to it and finish her after a couple of other models.

I have been thinking about possible ideas for the 2017/18 "Cookup".  Here is a list of a few possible topics

PRE 1914
FIRST TO FLY - Open Definition
EARLY AIRLINERS
BARNSTORMERS
TRIPLANES
EARLY BUSH PLANES
ANY BUSH PLANE - WHEELS, SKIS, OR FLOATS

- any other ideas out there?
Any of these would enable the builder to point out the history and characteristics of the plane during the build, for a good story, to go with the build.  The only thing I might like to see is everyone first register for the cookup, but use separate build threads, instead of everyone crowding into one build thread - just a thought ...
I find it hard to find an Individual guy's plane in the Schneider Trophy Cookup that has 32 pages, with a little bit here and a little bit there, of a guy's construction of his individual plane, spread out over 32 pages.
Just a thought ... I am no Computer Site programming expert, and it must take a lot of work to change formats ... I know all sites are different ... what are your thoughts ?
