Tom - I posted this suggestion before:
"The only thing I might like to see is everyone first register for the cookup, but use separate build threads, instead of everyone crowding into one build thread - just a thought ...
I find it hard to find an Individual guy's plane in the Schneider Trophy Cookup that has 32 pages, with a little bit here and a little bit there, of a guy's construction of his individual plane, spread out over 32 pages.
Just a thought ... I am no Computer Site programming expert, and it must take a lot of work to change formats ... I know all sites are different ... what are your thoughts ?
LASTWOODSMAN"
and your reply was:
"The only way a Cookup could separate all the builds into different threads would be to make a separate Cookup board that would make it possible to do what you ask.  Not impossible to do, just not usually done on most sites, such as HPA and SFA.
I like several of your ideas. "

I still find it
REALLY hard
to find an individuals build thread spread out over 32 pages with many posts and pics on each page.  I am sure a separate Cookup Board with separate individual builds will make it a lot easier.  I am sure every one will still keep track of all of the other builds this way also.
What do you think Tom?

I voted for peanut, dime or embryo - I've got one of each in my "to-build" pile.

If Bushplane wins out I may be able to do that one too.

Thanks Tom - I voted Bush Plane (only since I have the "Fleet CANUCK" floats framed up already).

Thanks Tom. I went for Peanut, Triplane or Mystery Plane, though I favour a Mystery Plane because it doesn't limit size or design considerations.

Put your votes on the poll not just in a reply, please!

I'll vote peanut or dime. I have too many elaborate builds going now, and still need to finish the S6B for the current cookoff!

If you participate in this poll means you'll be participating in the Cookup.

Feel free to vote for three (3) no more than 3! (We're trusting you to be honest in voting for only 3!

First category that reaches 5 votes will be the subject for our winter cookup.
Please understand to vote means you will participate!

So who wants to participate? What will the category be?
Let's hear from you!
Tom

How about adding
Barnstormers
to the list to choose from, and first to fly (open definition)  probably covered under pre 1914, and maybe early airliners (open definition), and maybe
Golden Era  of Racing
.
The list looks good as it is.  Maybe modify Bush Planes to include floats, skiis, or wheels (Tundra tires?).  Lots to choose from.  I agree with Ian - finalize the list and then vote.  I'll build anything too.
Sounds good to me.

If we are going to do a winter cook-up, then it is time to make a decision of the subject.
In the list below, I have summarized the suggestions so far.
If it is OK with the moderators, then I suggest we proceed this way:

Pick between one and three (max) categories from the 10 listed below. The first category to get 5 votes is the winner, since it requires 5 builders for a cookup.

1. Peanut Scale (or smaller)
2. Dime Scale (or pseudo dime scale)
3. Embryo
4. Bostonian
5. Mystery Plane
6. Planes that made an Ugly Planes list
7. Pre-1914 aircraft
8. Triplane (or more)
9. Bush Plane
10 Joe Ott design

Dime scale is good (been thinking about building the Comet D-VII), or perhaps post-WWII air racing?  I'd love to build Jackie Cochran's Thunderbird using the Golden Age kit, or Beguine, #57 F2G from John Bell's plan, or maybe even a more modern racer like Super Corsair.

Lots of great colors and interesting mods in the air racers.

Cheers,

Mike

Lots of great ideas fellas... I'm partial to:
1. Bush planes
2. Airliners
3. Mystery Planes
Not necessarily in that order.

I think that LastWoodsman had a great suggestion for a cookup. How about one of the planes in the "Can You Name This Plane" thread? Pick your favorite; any model type (FF, R/C, C/L ...), any size, any source (kit, plan, self-designed), scale or "stand-off" scale.
