Mike., thanks for the research it is appreciated. I  Have been looking at the issues starting with no.1 and it does take some time with all of the great articles and plans to look at.

Well! I have decided to start the cookup with the Comet Curtiss Wright Coupe, then go from there for the next build. I cannot get a handle on what their color schemes were, does anyone have any information on this?

I spent way too much time today looking at newsletters instead of putting stringers on the Navion!  Issue 231 has a nice PT-19 dimer.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, I printed that plan for the Tempest and I really like how it looks. You are on to something with that link to the past FAC issues.

I had to change internet providers after ATT wanted #379.00 for the first bill. Shocked

Back to fun dimers and pseudo-dimers, there is a nice plan for a pseudo-dimer of the Tempest Mk.1 by Mike Nassise in issue 252 of the Flying Aces newsletter, available at:

http://www.flyingacesclub.com/FACAbout.html#archive

I'm going to do the Skyrocket, but this one is really tempting...

As Tom stated this thread is for us all to post our build and flying progress for this cookup (Winter) in one place as has been done for each cookup that we’ve done in the past. Also as cookups world wide were done.

I know everyone is chomping at the bits to start, it just shows everyone has a keen interest in building. Please be ready for the 24th. of November to start which is only eight days and a wake up till we start and then we can tear through our work areas and start cutting wood.

Gentlemen...this is a cookup not current builds.  As has been stated over and over a cookup is not separate builds.  If one wants separate builds, there is the "Current Builds" section for individual posting of each build.  I appreciate the difficulty you've expressed, but that's just part of a cookup presentation.  Part of the cookup fun is following the cookup daily to keep up with what your fellow modelers are doing.  As stated earlier, if you use the "white arrow" to reverse the posting in the thread it makes following a bit easier.  Enjoy the cookup!

Boy, 10 pages so far and not a stick of wood has been cut yet! I think that at the least we will need a new thread for the actual build, or perhaps (as has been suggested) a new forum topic just for the current cook-up build. There certainly is a lot of interest this year.
ian

I agree with Ian.  We need a separate category called "Winter Cookup 2017-18" where we can all post our builds threads separately, and actually keep track of who is building what plane.    It would be far easier to keep up with each other's builds, especially now that there are 12 entries.  It will be too crowded for  me under one thread.  I can't even remember what I had for supper two days ago ...

Of all the dime scale a/c that ive built (2) were easy builds and flew the best almost off the board.

1. Comet Vultee Attack.
2. Comet NA BT-9 Trainer.

Brad, remember the rules are there only if you plan to compete.

I will love to see your Aeronca L build.

Bob:

I love that Aeronca L.

I'm definitely NOT building the Hot Stuff racer for this cook up, but I will build something within the rules.  I just don't know what yet.

It's much easier to ride the horse in the direction its going.

Gentlemen...to assist on reading the thread for the Cookup there's a small white arrow just to the left of the thread's title.  If you click and hold on the white arrow it will invert the thread so when you click on the thread the last page will be shown first and you don't have to read or click through all the pages from the first page posted to the current page.
Please note the numbering of the pages will change when you do this so the most recent page will read page one! even after another page is added to the thread.

This might assist those who have been starting at the first page.
