Richard,
I've been going back and forth with both Mikes regarding this drawing and I believe that we've finally narrowed the drawing down to it's final point.

The "thrust bearing race" is the same as "thrust bearings". In mkelly's video he used two brass washers in place of the "thrust bearing race".

"Drive Plate/Power Plate" are one in the same with the drive pin on this plate.

With the additional soldered "brass prop spacer washer" on the prop shaft there's no need for an extension on the prop bushing because it rests directly on the "brass prop spacer washer" !

You'll notice the "drive pin" has been moved inside the radius of the Clutch Dog pivot point.

From a quick draw we have refined the drawing throughout the day...
Tom

I hope this clarifies things for everyone.

     Is the "
PROP DRIVE DISC
" the same as the blue "
DRIVE PLATE
" or "
POWER PLATE
", which has the little music wire "
DRIVE PIN
" soldered to it, that drives the "
CLUTCH DOG
", and shouldn't that "
DRIVE PIN
" be lowered just a bit, in order to not interfere with the "
CLUTCH DOG
" ?
     And shouldn't  the "
BRASS TUBE BUSHING
" sleeve of the propeller, be extended further back from the back edge of the prop,  to the "
PROP SAPCER WASHER
" that is soldered to the prop shaft.  Should there be a couple of small spinning washers at that point?
Is a "THRUST BALL RACE" the same as a "THRUST BEARING" ?

Thanks Mike...
You'll notice that Mike used two brass washers instead of a Thrust ball race as on the original pictures and they work very well!

Here's a redraw of the original drawing by me.  I think It's accurate.

edit: 6:47 pm --Hopefully the final edit: There was one more correction on the drawing, the drive pin is moved inside the Clutch Dog's pivot point allowing the prop to free wheel beyond the drive pin in free wheel.

Here's a short video demonstrating the Mulholland-style freewheel device. Note that you may have to leave yourself enough room between the noseblock and spinner to be able to flip the lever into the latched position using a toothpick or skewer.

Hope this helps,

Found this information through Mike on HPA and he graciously allowed me to post his articles on free wheelers and nose blocks from various size rubber powered model airplanes.

These articles were posted in the "Slipstream the Bulletin of the Auckland Model Aero Club" a newsletter of the club.  The articles are in two consecutive newsletter published Dec/Jan 2017/2018 and February 2018.  You'll need to read down to the articles in the middle of the newsletters.  They're well worth your time and effort.

Also an excerpt from HPA and Mike's Scout build...nose plug is finally complete... pics and PDF of his post here and next reply.

Thanks again Mike for your willingness to share these techniques and skills with us.  Just another proof of the greatness of this Stick and Tissue hobby!
