Covering was completed over the weekend due to nasty weather. Covering is Japanese Esaki tissue in yellow, black, and red, attached with white glue. I did a 3 color scheme, because I was running out of tissue.

The bones are done before the weekend. They weigh in at 54 grams. The small fuselage is a peanut for size comparison.

Thanks Bob. I think I used them before, but lost the bookmark while switching computers.

I usually get my balsa from National Balsa.

SIG would be my second choice.

Does anybody know of a good balsa supplier for prop blocks? I can't find decent wood anywhere. I was going to carve a prop but I'm not paying 15 dollars or more with shipping.

I got a some more done. I did not take any pictures of the fuse, but I did do a time lapse and may cut together a video of it. The fuse is fairly simple albeit very large. I was out of 1/8 so a search at Hobby Lobby turned up a nice medium A grain sheet. I used this on the fuselage for uprights and longerons. A whole sheet just on the fuse.
We are having a windy fall, with often 6-8 kn wind. So I have not been flying for a while. At least no snow, but rain 2 or 3 days a week and 20 or 30 degrees the rest of the time isn't much better. This is when I build. Smiley

The wing was completed. It's not that complicated, but I messed up and printed one part sheet slightly undersized. I didn't realize it until one wing panel was done that all the ribs from one sheet were short. So the ribs were left the same on the other side for balance.
I got a razor plane and had some fun making nice trailing and leading edges.

I still don't have a large rubber model yet. A few years ago a
40" Capitol Spitfire was attempted but it was way too complicated and was aborted. So here is a second 40 incher and maybe I will finish it. The Gypsy (or Gipsy) was the largest model KK produced. It is a Wakefield model designed to be easy to build. Multiple modern replica kits are available in the U.K.
I got some parts and the tail feathers done. This thing has a very large amount balsa in it! The horizontal stab is larger than most model's wings.
