Bill flies UC (you control) with lines and a handle. The power is a glow engine in the nose of the plane.  He flies around a circle pattern unless he is performing stunts, such as wingovers or loops.  Excuse me if this over simplified. But I wanted to make sure some of our newer member had a clear understanding of UC flying.

Here's a link to a Youtube video of UC flying in Whittier, CA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ2_vN71VDc

The noses are cut out to facilitate twisting the needle valve on the .09 engine just before flight.

G'day Bill;
Love the planes-they are looking great mate!Maybe one day down the track i might have to have a go at something BIG myself(not sure where i would build it or what to do with it afterwards though!Maybe i'll just stick to small stuff for now...!)
Probably a dumb question but i'll ask anyway-what is the reason for the cut out section on the nose of the finished planes?

Cheers mate!
