Welcome Mark,
The PBY looks great so far.  You have a super "Fetchermite Assistant" there!  Keep posting and let us follow how you progress.

Are you going to vacuum form a canopy or paint up the great looking plug you have there.

I will jump a bit to the current status and then maybe backtrack if any interest.  I have been doing a bit of kit bashing.  All plastic pieces are being replaced with wood equivalents.  Since it is static (and 45" wingspan) I have made the outer parts of the wings removable with magnets and dowels.  Latest project is the scratch cockpit canopy.

Greetings and Salutations.  I have been looking for a site like this and finally found it!  I have traditionally been a wooden ship builder (scratch, late 1700's, admiralty style) but for a break went back to my youth (back in the 70's).  I ran across the Guillows PBY Catalina kit and remembered wanting to build it so much when it first came out.  Well this seemed a good time so I went ahead and got it.
