This is a recurring problem everywhere, and the question pops up fairly frequently. If you have that problem, then you probably are taking pictures with a newer digital camera or smartphone. Newer jpeg pictures have a piece of data (EXIF metadata) added to them that indicate rotation at the time that the picture was taken. Some programs can account for it, but others do not.

see: http://www.howtogeek.com/254830/why-your-photos-dont-always-appear-correctly-rot... for a more thorough explanation.

So, how do you make sure that your pics are uploaded properly? You can strip the EXIF data from your pictures:
see: http://www.howtogeek.com/203592/what-is-exif-data-and-how-to-remove-it/
In Windoze, you right-click on the file, select properties. Click “Remove Properties and Personal Information” at the bottom of the properties dialog. Then select OK.
Alternatively, you should be able to "wash" your pic through an editing program like Paint. Open your pic in Paint, save it as a .png file and upload that. Or, take the .png file and re-convert it to a .jpg file.

Hope that this is useful for you.
