Huey v77- never saw any o2 s with turbine  engines. We had enough problems with the power of the O1, the pilots  had a tendency to ground loop them on take off.  Most of the pilots  were ex fighter pilots.  Only worked on O1 s for about 3 months, was transfered to the 1st Cav., working on C7A. Did see several C46 s flown by " Air America ".

Bis, I met a guy who worked for Air America. He said he and another pilot delivered 5 O2's each to Nam that were converted to turbine engines. They would remove the data plates and return to the factory to pick up another plane. He said they were real performers. Did you ever see one?

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Mark worked on O1 s in Bien Hoa 1966. We got them in crates, some assembly required  Smiley, it took less time to put them together than the Guillows model. Reload 357 44 mag 45 Colt 243 30-30 38-55 45-70.

Welcome Bis. Been over East Texas, haven't left any foot prints there. Two out of three isn't bad, 556 45 and 9mm. Have some time in an O1. Looking forward to your builds.

Welcome Bis...you'll find a great bunch of modelers here.  They're eager to assist New and returning modelers to this great hobby!  So post your builds and open a "hanger" to post your already built squadron.  Make yourself at home and remember, "there are no dumb questions!" so feel free to ask and these modelers will respond with a host of suggestions.

Hello everyone.
I have lived in East Texas for 18 years now,  its a great place to retire,  I'm originally from So California.
I have not built a tissue aircraft in 50 years until a friend gave me a P51 and it all started over again, next came  a O1 Bird Dog ( I worked on them in Nam). I am currently building a Guillows Se5.
My other interest are HO railroads, reloading and target shooting.
I guess that's about all, this looks like a great site.
