How to post Photos on S&T or Shrink Your Photos
To post your photos on this site the photo file cannot be larger than 400kb. Here are some solution to resize your photos to the proper size for posting on the site. Each reply on the boards will allow up to six photos per reply. To the left of the reply box under the Smilies box is an Attachment + line. Click on the + button five time this will allow you to upload six picture to your New Subject or Reply.

Western Region Flying Aces
A division of Flying Aces Club is a group of unique Free Flight Modelers who enjoy the hobby of Stick and Tissue modeling. They participate in national competitions and have local chapters in the Western U.S. and hold local meets to compete and enjoy the modeling hobby together. This board will hold the contact information and announce the upcoming WESTFAC EVENTS.

Items from the History of Modeling Aircraft
Here is where we will endeavor to build a History of Stick and Tissue modeling and the assorted modeling disciplines that have added to our hobby over the years. We will continue to keep the Free Flight discipline capitalized but will be including the other facets of the modeling traditions over the years. This will be more of an Archive board and where discussions of the various topics will be directed to the S&T Café!

How to determine the balsa grain type and how the types are best used in construction.

Display/Static Models
Stick and Tissue models that are built as static display models. Quite often display models will have much more details in cockpits, engines and control surfaces. Detail is limited only by the modeler. These models are not made to fly on rubber or electric power.

Forgotten Projects or Original Designs or Experiments
We all have those project builds that we started and somehow got diverted to other responsibilities or projects and they wound up in a box or several boxes. This board is for those projects that are being resurrected. So if you have a forgotten project or a project that was set aside and now you're getting it back out you can post it here. Maybe you have an original design you want to post without opening a complete build thread or maybe it's just an experiment. Here's the board for you.

How To's for beginners & experienced modelers
Step by step how to's for beginners & experienced modelers showing the tools, supplies and basic steps in constructing various parts and components for your Stick and Tissue model. Like making wing ribs from scratch, what kind of adhesive do you use, making wing to fuselage fillets, adding panel lines to your model etc. You may find a new idea or be reminded of one you used to use!

NoCals Builds
These are profile style rubber powered models. The fuselages are profile rather than full bodied models with a motor stick on the side of the fuselage. Primarily flown indoor but in calm whether can be flown outdoors. Usually covered in tissue, which often is printed on an inkjet printer.

Pistachio Scale Models
This board is for Pistachio Scale
Open to any scale free flight rubber powered model of either not more than 8" span or not more than 6" overall length excluding propeller. The minimum documentation is as follows: (a) A general arrangement drawing of at least two inches wingspan but not more than twelve inches wingspan.

Dime Scale and Pseudo Dimers
Dime Scale models come in two flavors: Traditional, and Pseudo. Both compete under the same rules.
Traditional Dimers are built from plans produced during the “golden age” of modeling; Pseudo Dimers are built
from contemporary designs that honor the methods, structural simplicity, and details typical of those early plans.
1.0 BASIC RULES
A. Dime Scale models are to be of simple design and easy construction such as those built from 10 cent kits or
plans representing full scale airplanes built prior to December 31, 1949.
B. Wing span: 16 inches maximum.

With the advances in the mini and micro RC electric systems many people are bringing these systems into the Stick and Tissue arena. Catapult Launched/Hand Launched Gliders

Using Foam for Modeling
Foam can be used for many various parts of Free Flight Rubber Powered models.
