Greetings All,
With the Lavender Tink is done. Is there a finished build thread or place that this build needs to be moved to?

I'll leave this to the moderator or site monitor to handle.

Regards to all,
Tom

Thyme,
thanks for the comments...haven't gotten the decals yet.  30+ years ago before Kids I was heavy into RC and built a number of 25 and 45 powered planes mostly Fox powered.  But building them and these stick and tissue birds are really different.  You know it the RC got a little heavy just increase the power as long as it was trimmed properly.

I enjoy building and with the super glues available you can build much faster.  Just don't have a good hobby shop in the area here.  They are all 30 minutes to an hour away.  And still most cater to the RC crowd so light weight balsa is almost always order and wait for it to arrive. Cry

Here's the latest on the Born Loser or as I call her..."Lavender Tink" added some trim with white tissue and finished the spats...got to finish sand the spats and coat again with paint.  Finish the nose block and vacuform a spinner and when I get the decals at Tink to the wings and fuselage.

Regards,
Tom

Thymekiller,
I'll check out the embryo thread on SFA...I added the gussets on the tail feathers, thought it would assist in avoiding warps...but broke the leading edge covering it.  Will make a new horizontal stab tomorrow.

My big fingers and those little thin sticks. Embarrassed Roll Eyes

Here's the picks of her covered in domestic lavender. I thought this fitting for Tinkerbelle Grin Cheesy

Tom

Looking very good. Nothing wrong with the weight. Thats good for this size plane. I brought up the embryo thread over at sfa. Its in the free flight sport catagory. Check it out for info on rubber and weights.
I have my eye on one called "maxout"
I noticed you put gussets on the tail feathers.

Hey Thyme,
Just saw your post...you were posting while I was adding the last pic.

This looks like a fun little plane.  I'll check your post after this.  Thanks for the invite to join the Angel Squadron...I'm one of the Tink's.  Hope to start covering soon.  Will be using domestic tissue from the Dollar Store.  Used all my Esaki Tissue on the Koutny Cookup over on Hip Pocket Aeronautics site.  This will be a fun little model.  My 23 year old son was impressed with the little bipe more than the P51H or the Bf109F.  Thinks he might build one with me but not for the squadron.
My all up weight is 10.7 grams

Regards,
Tom

Me Again,

Here's another picture of the bones sanded and nose block shaped. And the gussets added.  Only broke a few stringers while sanding so that's why the gusset were added.  Big fingers and small stringers  Sad Cry Grin

Born Loser-Angel Team

Hi, I'm building parallel with Thymekiller on the Angel team.  This is my first embryo but it looks to be a real fun model.

I usually make a kit from the plans and then when all the parts are cut out and ready for the construction phase I start building.

I start with the fuselage buillding the first side and then build the second side over the first separated by plastic wrap or wax paper.

I build the wings next first the top wing and then the bottom wing and while I'm waiting for them to dry.  I build the tail feathers.

Here's some pics of the plans and the parts cut and sanded.  Grin
