I will check the incidence before I go out again.

I had some glue and wood with me, but it was 1/32 and not 1/16
so maby thats why the trim didn't change that much.

I tried my Okha glider today,
This is how we left



I tryed to follow the directions given in the recently posted video.

I think when I handglide him everything is like it should be.
But when I tryed the gentle power, the only consistent result was
a big loop and than a low circling dive.
Whatever I tryed to trim (up elevator, down elevator, left roll , right roll) It would always loop.
When I tryed full power, the behaviour was the same but slightly more violent resulting in a lawn dart.
At my last attempt I ripped off the stab and lost the rubber band on my only slingshot.
With the stab loose I glued it back on with more incidence but could not try powered launches again.
Impossible to find my rubber band, as  he was perfectly camouflaged



All and all I had great fun and cant wait to get back out there.
An hour went by quickly.

I completely forgot to follow up with photos of the Cougar and Panther catajets.  The Panther (straight winged version) turned out to be the better flyer, being much easier to trim.  There is a difference in the fuselage length between the two, with the Panther having a longer snout and more forward located cockpit

My first build of the Panther was with the "short" Cougar fuz (reminder to myself - check drawings/photos before assembling ) - required a LOT of weight to balance.  Dark blue tissue with silver inked panel lines on the fuselage looks great, but adds too much weight in the standard construction.  Still flys OK, but max to date is only about 20 seconds.  The "proper" Panther with only two coats of thinned clear Acrylic gets 30 seconds consistently with a max to date of over a minute.

Here's my version of the Me-163A Komet....This is from the plan posted by Marcelo on the Fi-103 Reichenberg thread on HPA.

I chose the Red scheme that was used only once on one of the first Komets rolled out for squadron use.  To honor Von Richtoffen and the flying circus of WWI.

fuse is 9.25 inches and wingspan is 15 inches.  Haven't weighed mine yet.  Feels pretty light for its size.  My first try at a tailless aircraft.  I have gotten pretty level glides of approximately 15 feet.  Haven't tried on the catapult yet.

Nice drawing Tom.  I'm compiling my templates for the F9F to be able to buld either the Panther or Cougar.  I made the model direct from the 3 views.  I've also done a Beta plan for the F-89 Scorpion.

Soon as I get the prototypes built and flying, they'll be posted to the Plans Gallery on HPA.

Well the Ohka is catching and leads to other experiments...Orange, Grey and then branching out to 50's U.S. Jets...F94C Starfighter intercepter based on the Lockheed T-33 trainer with afterburner added.
Markings are Red and Black Sharpie pens...Blue canopy is Hobby Acrylic paint purchased at Michael's (an art/hobby and florist supply store here in the area)

Always been a favorite of mine...sooooo   Here's my attempt at another cat launched glider...F94C....
Tried to save some weight and didn't seal the balsa before painting...IT'S SILVER PAINT TOM?????  always seal balsa before painting with silver paint  

Fuselage is 11 inches and wingspan is 9 inches haven't weighed her yet but she's the lightest of all three.

Here's a couple of pics...its ok but next time will seal the balsa on silver jets...By the way, glides great...tomorrow will see how she cats...weather permiting.

Have done the little store bought gliders many times over the years.
Its good that you have a helping hands. Not enough folks spend time with the wee ones anymore.
Dont know where I picked it up, but, I heard that if you dont catch them when they are young, you will lose them when they are older.
