Here's a video of the two disc CAD tutor.  This is a really helpful tutorial that will get you up and running drawing plans quickly.  Easily translating from RC to Rubber powered models.

Thanks Staubkorb for the link and Bob, I think you'll have fun playing with CAD... It takes a bit to learn it though.

My brother is reconfiguring my laptop for a 300gb external HD. As soon as that happens I want to download this then give it a test drive.

DraftSight download at:

http://www.3ds.com/products/draftsight/free-cad-software/

Not sure of the actual file size, but it WOULD be in the neighborhood of ~25MB.  It is a lot more powerful than TurboCad 12 (and maybe TC 15).  It is what will be installed on my newer confuser once I get the OS upgraded to Win 7 Pro (or Ultimate).

RR, thanks for the info. Would you know how much room this program takes up?

If you are wanting an inexpensive CAD program (i.e. free), take a look at DraftSight.  I don't have the link right now, but a internet search should get you there.  You do have to register, but the emails haven't been too bad.

DraftSight appears to be a AutoCad compatible program.  I haven't found any AutoCad commands that don't work in DraftSight.

Thanks for the headsup on the download not being available. Apparently this offer has been removed from the site that offered it.  I've also found that to access RCGroups links now you have to copy the link and paste it into the top activity line and then click on the search button.  RCGroups has changed it's setup and we can not directly link to their site anymore.

Only problem is that it no longer seems to be offered.  I was going to download a "fresh" copy to my new confuser and could no longer get to a useable link - even directly from IMSI.  I'll have to try to transfer from the old box - which does not always work.

Size is 173MB.

Hi ya'll...found this on the net and it is a bonified TurboCAD 12 licensed program free with the proper license given to you through your email.... Here's the link: You'll need to copy this and paste it in your active line of your internet page.  For some reason the link doesn't work directly any more.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1557294] ;  At RC Groups

And a tutorial available for a few bucks that is really worthwhile if you've never done any TurboCAD or AutoCAD drawing before TurboCAD design for Model RC Airplanes  Although for RC models the information is easy to adapt to rubber powered plans...
I've been working on plans for the New Standard D-25 on a thread in Current Builds....section.
