It's cool that SFA is back up.
Feel free to drop in anytime.  As soon as my confuser issues are sorted out, I will post over there too.
It's a great site.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.  Even though it started out as a model I was just going to knock together in a hurry, I ended up taking my time and in the end I'm really proud of this one.  Turns out it was just what I needed as the girlfriend said we need to install a shelf somewhere for all my airplanes, which is a huge upgrade from my current box o' planes in the closet...

Anyways, I just want to thank all of you for watching my progress.  Now that SFA has returned (which I consider 'home' on the internet) I plan on cross posting between there and here.

Cute Monocoupe, Tim.  Good to see you here. Just noticed that SFA is up.  If it stays up, I'm in for your 'one day build' with a couple of those little Guillows sheet wood flying models  as tether line fliers.  I've been looking at the plans of those that you sent to me and am preparing some patterns for cutting wood for a couple of the little guys.

This picture of the Champ that you built from the series has been an inspiration to me.  Nice work.

It is adorable. I really like the style.
Using a nut to cut threads for fins is a great idea.  We have been on a bit of a motor kick, lead by JohnO, and yours looks great!  Love the exhaust.

All that SFA stuff aside, SHE'S DONE!

The engine crank case and nose block are covered in Hallmark silver tissue while the cylinders are balsa dowels that I ran a nut down to cut in the fins.  I then coloured them with a black sharpie and glued them to the crank case.  The exhaust collector ring is aluminum tube that was slowly and carefully bent into shape.

The whole airplane is a portly 23 grams once balanced but I imagine it will still fly alright.  If not, it's still going to be just about the cutest thing to ever sit on my shelf.

I was afraid of that.
That would be a horrible loss.
If Arjun would give up the passwords, I bet it could be fixed.
The spam thing could be fixed pretty easy, but you have to be able to get in to do it. Again, need the passwords.

Thanks guys.  Looks like I'll keep posting.

I talked to Pete about SFA as I haven't been able to get on in the last week and a half or so.  Apparently it's a serious issue that has crashed the whole forum and he can't reach the actual site owner, who is unfortunately the only one with all the passwords required to make things right again.

LOVE the pinstripe work.

My confuser lost a power supply and I am using the wifes. It wont log on to SFA for some reason. Pete tried to get me in awhile back, but I just have to wait till I get mine back. Kinda like what happened to squishy, cept' mine is browser based and I'm not banned. I suspect it because of the spam settings.
Sad about the SFA having problems.  Wish there was something I could do.

Thanks for posting the pics, that's a good looking plane.

Wow gorgeous.  Pleas...more!!! I hope SFA can weather the current storm.  I, for one, will probably stop posting there as I have too much to play catch up!!!!

Hey all,

I've been away from this forum for quite a while now but with the great SFA crash of 2012 I'm back!

Anyways, I was building a Tony Holicek-designed Bostonian Monocoupe 22 in the Bostonian cookup and I figured I'd just move the build over to here.

Here's what I had about a week ago:

And here's what I have today:

If you guys are interested I'll post more pics as I go.
