Pugnacious and cute at the same time.

Thanks for posting an excellent build.

Thanks JohnO....

Well I finally found some red plastic picnic plates...so the spinner has been plunge molded...I made two, you never know when you'll need a second spinner.... That finished the Bostang B-51 Tuskegee Airmen's bird Bostonian style.  I made a revers "S" prop shaft out of .032 music wire.  Gotta get some super glue to fix the two aluminum tubes, one in the prop hub and one in the noseblock... Then to fly her as soon as the April showers stop...

Here's the pics of the finished, except for flying, Bostang...Really have enjoyed building this bird of Roman's design...

Here's the progress on the prop blades now covered with tissue and tips painted yellow...

Prop hub with freewheeling ramp filed into the prophub tube...and pics of the prop on the nose of B-51 Tuskegee Airmen...

Got a little artsy and photographed the prop spinning...the Merlin ticking over slowly getting ready to taxi out... Cheesy Grin Wink

EDIT:  Got to looking at the spinning prop and decided it needed a darker background...sooo here's another pic...

Forgot to say that the pitch guage was made from scrap balsa... the angle is 45 degree and the distance from prop center was taken from the guage in the prop thread...just under 1" distance... Since packing I haven't been able to find some of my tools. HA HA   I'm sure that will be a continuing situation for a while.

Charlieman...that's the way I usually do it.  Just cut the blades from the bottle.  I've also used plastic picnic glasses and yogurt cups also.  Did that on the pusher prop on my F100D on this site...

Thanks Eric...I'll be plunge molding the spinner out of plastic picnic plates (Red) so it won't need any paint.  Roman said the CG is 22mm back from the leading edge of the wing...so I hope to have this and the D-25 flying by the end of the week...only 30-40 percent chance of rain the rest of the week...so you know what that means...It'll probably pour the rest of the week...
