Haha, she's not very roomy for sure but they did free up some space inside by staggering the seating.  The two seats on the right are set about six inches back from the two on the left to make more shoulder room without making the fuselage wider still.  As for weight, I've never heard of the one I'm involved with carrying more than three people at a time.

I'm certain I would  max it out just by myself....I also don't think anyone would be able to sit next to me.

I believe the aircraft is a Thruxton Jackaroo... I think a few more were made as Rollason Jackaroos.

A modified De Havilland Tiger Moth made into a 4 place tourer.  A small batch was made from war surplus Moths following WWII.

This is my guess.... Smiley  check out this site: http://www.airteamimages.com/search.php?srch_keyword=Thruxton%20Jackaroo

TK, that's exactly why I'm headed down to Oshkosh.  My dad and I have been talking about going there for the past twenty years and this year we're finally going to do it.  The camera is charged up, the memory stick cleared so there will definitely be pics.

If I can find time to get to a scanner tomorrow morning before my flight out of town (going to Oshkosh!), I'll drop a big hint elsewhere on this site.  If not, the hint will come in a week or so when I get back.

I was thinking of doing a carved foam fuselage and stick and tissue flying surfaces. Actually, part of me wants to go right off the deep end and do a model of a half-restored Fort they have on display at the Canadian Warplane Heritage museum.

Probably not any time soon, though.

As for further mysteries, my computer is in the shop so you'll have to wait for any further contributions from me.

You've obviously nailed it Tom.  I too want to build one, I just haven't figured out exactly how.  Might be a good first foam fuselage for me...

-Tim

You're reading my mind Tim...I was thinking of lost foam and reed former construction as in my Goose G-21 build.  Looks like a perfect candidate....

I love it...

Yesterday my computer crashed and I lost my mystery planes.  Had a lot of my stuff backed up but not the mystery planes....have you got another one?

Tim,

Your last hint did it for me.  I believe it's a RCAF Fleet Fort...built by the Canadians during WWII

Here's the pic I found.  The Fleet Fort Model 60K

This looks like a unique plane that I'd be tempted to try to scratch build.  Eliptical wings, big round fuse cross section and all.... Smiley
