Since no one else is posting here, how about this one?

Could the answer really be as simple as it looks at first glance?

Thanks Tim,

That fuselage is kinda Gee Bee like.  Big Round Barrel.  Would make an interesting model.

Tom, I suspect your first pic of the Kittiwake shows it in primer.  British planes of the period received a red oxide coloured paint on wood surfaces, I think I read somewhere it was a preservative or fungicide or something.

The wing could be built just like the F4U Corsair... only inverted to actual gull setup. Just reinforce the wing spars at the breaks.

I agree, she'd be a great model that has just that different look to make all the guys at the field ask, "What's that?"

She might make an outstanding bostonian...

When you get to her Tim...be sure to post the build here...

Thanks for a unique aircraft.
In the first picture I wonder what the color scheme is?

Wouldn't the Kittiwake look just great as a model?  I'm not entirely sure how I'd handle a lot of things to do with that wing but one of these is definitely on my to-do list.

I found pics of the plane that match the drawing but the twin tail setup put me off.  The original pic has a single tail setup....

Correct, Tim, and here's a sketch of where the wing and engines came from.  Only a few were built, could be a subject for another MP.

The mystery plane was put together by some fellows in Tulsa and licensed and flown as an experimental, of which only one copy was built.

Whoa, that's an oddball.  Looks like somebody made a twin out of a Stinson Flying Station Wagon, but I don't think it's the factory built example (was developed by Piper into the Apache).

Am I close?

How about this one, Tim?  We took this photo at Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967.
