Alright, I'll go on to say it was designed and built in Canada.

It looks like possibly a Blackburn prototype for the Skua...similar lines....

Still haven't found anything definitive...

Alright, it was designed to be an intermediate trainer between the Tiger Moth and Harvard but instead was refitted with radio training gear.

Tom, I never really noticed the very DH-like tail on my mystery plane but you're absolutely right, it does have that look.  Too bad it's not a DH product!

I'll at least let you know that while the pic I posted is a prototype, the airplane actually did go into full production.  I believe three or four survive today with only one of those examples in airworthy condition.

The tail area makes me think of De Havilland  like the chipmunk but the radial engine and fix landing gear in spats is something else.

I'll keep looking...

As luck would have it, I have a whole folder of mystery planes.  Thanks to a total lack of foresight I didn't put identifying filenames on any of them so here's the only one I remember right now...

Hi ya'll,

Found this pic and thought that I'd see if any of you can identify it...

This is back to the origins of this thread. Smiley
