Final  pics of the P6e version...

Again thanks to Bill Parker for the profile pilots for these birds.  He works out perfect for them...

Once the patterns are set up for the model the tissue is not too hard to change for another scheme.  I decided against printing the wings.  Uses too much ink.  I just printed the fuselage.  I'm not satisfied with the fuselage colors.  The computer was to simulated a creme colored fabric behind the metal nose section of the fuselage with various metal panels.  But the printer when it printed, rendered the metalic grey almost white and the creme is very yellow.  I'll have to compensate for this in the next tissue that is printed.  So for now the scheme I chose had silver doped lower wings, red tail and blue stripes and cowling.  So I used colored tissue for the empenage and cowling and wings.

Here's the 12 inch span with the round motor and tissue.  Still working on the motor.  1/32 wire came today and so I added the landing gear wire.  Now to the fairing, spats and wheels.

Well,

103 outside and humid...lot's of indoor time, so  reprinted the Baby Bipe in the proper size 12 inch span.  I've been looking for a new scheme and have found a Curtiss BFC2 that I like.  So the Baby bipe get's a round motor... still have that to make.  Still waiting on the 1/32 wire for the landing gear.

I didn't want to cut out all the ribs and sand them to shape.  So I did sliced ribs with 1/16 sq spar.  I then capped the spar with another 1/16 sq stick between the ribs to smooth out the top of the wing.  Way too heavy but hopefully it will withstand the Fetchermites.

Got impatient  to see the tissue on the bones.  Lightly spritzed with alcohol and paid the penalty.  HP inks will bleed/run.  Not to bad but I didn't follow the recommendation to preshrink and seal with clear before gluing to model.   

So I've gotta do another one.  I didn't have the wire for the landing gear so had to order some really thin wire for the gear, spats and leg fairings...

I am pleased with the learning process and the next one will be better.  Had a snafu with the printer with a paper jam and clear it but couldn't get the printer to work again.  So I'll have to see about an Epson.  I hear good things about their printer ink.

Had some red tissue that matched the printed red.  Applied it wet to the nose block covered pretty good.

Patience, Patience, Patience ...

Here's the pics of the finished tissue and the jig for mounting the upper wing.  Still have the gear and struts to finish.

Excellent pics of a neat little plane Tom. !!!  The colors look great.
Let me ask, once you have printed the tissue, you can print it again pretty easy?

First attempt at tissue.  Test printed on bond paper at fast draft to conserve ink.  But gives me an idea of the changes that need to be made.  There are a lot too.
