	It's always sad when it cant be saved. Got a couple I need to throw away, but cant bring myself to do it.

	Looks like you have a good wing still....how tough would it be to build a new fuselage and horizontal and vertical stab if that is broken also. Too bad the stringers gave up the ghost! Good luck with the next one... Tom

	my next effort at repair was a John Bell designed Piper Cub for Dave Reese. I built this cub 2 or 3 years ago and it flew nice. It had been recovered several times and I stripped the tissue aft of the wing. in doing so I noticed the poor stringers were in poor shape and needless to say the stringers came apart one by one before I even got to the tail where I was going to replace he elevator that broke. the damage is obvious. REPAIR CANCELLED. Well that was easy JIM

	It takes awhile to get trimmed out. The smallest thing can be the biggest difference. Keep us posted.

	got a couple of good flights out of SPEEDEE and a couple of duds. More trimming I suppose.

	You might check for any warps on your wings and stab. Also have you checked the incidence of the main wing to the horizontal stab? Where does the plane balance? A good starting place is approximately 25% to 30% back from wing leading edge. If it remains extremely heavy towards the nose you may have to add some weight to the tail. 	some more repair to the p40 I stripped out the damaged areas, the replaced the broken formers, restrung them and replaced the tissue. This is seen in the accompanying photos. My big problem for this plane is trimming it. It will need some up elevator otherwise she dives into the ground. We shall see. Jim

	right as rain tom Now here's something for u all. @ weeks ago I bought a certain technology stock, a former star that supernovaed few years back. I ha dreamed of buying it way back when but it was always too much to pay. well it was in the toilet, circling the drain when it announced it finally had its potential act together and like he phonix was rising again from its own ashes. So i bought it. Two weeks later I sold it and bought a new Nikon Camera from the proceeds here are the results of photos taken with my new camera and fotoes from my old one for comparison. they show my next project the repair of my P 40. i THINK I MADE A GOOD CHOICE TO REPLACE MY CAMERA DON'T U?

	my next repair is the FROG Speedy. An excellent flyer at 18 inch w/s. The FROG plan is only 12 inches but if you blow it up anf covert to Stick and tissue or mixed(stick and sheet you will have a great flyer. It looks like a pseudo SPITFIRE but is easier to trim. The first pic shows Some tissue damage as well as war weariness. I decided to sand it and apply new tissue. The First job was to completely strip the fuselage and lower right wing (pics 2/3) The A/c is sanded to bare balsa (getting rid of old tissue and glue. any thin or broken stringers are replaced at this stage. The A/c is then sheeted for strength and weight adjustment and finally re-covered. I did test it and there was a sharop turing to the left. I will have to adjust the thrust lines when I fly iy out. At his stage of the game it owes me nothing,. This frame is a couple of years old. JIM

	I started with the mustang (J Bell designer See my P51Built at HIPPOCKETAERONAUTICS) There was tissue damage and the tail separated. The Repair was done in steps !) separate tail from fuselage and cut out torn tissue 2) repair tail piece into solid block 3) replace tissue 4) lay out 1/16 sheet insert to fuselage to receive tail 5) checking alignment, glue tail to fuselage. now I have to test fly.
