There ya go!  I've never used the "right click" method as I've always had some kind of photo editing program as well as "paint".  I never got into "Paint" as it is just too limited (or was - Windumb7 version seems MUCH nicer than the previous versions).

Some more info on file size.

You can have two photos, shot with the same camera with the same basic settings (Example: camera set at 2 megapixel, flash off).  One is a simple, say, airplane with a two-color scheme on a single color background and the other is two planes with a bunch of detailing and multi-color schemes - also on the same single color background.  Photo #2 will have a higher file size than the first simply because there is more information in the file - even tho both are the same physical size.

The 400 kb is the file size.  When re-sizing your photos, use the pixel sizing entry in the menu and the 1024 x 768 pixels (usually in a drop down menu) if the pic is in the landscape mode and swap the numbers if in portrait mode.  This is the size I use.

If you've cropped (trimmed) the photo from its original size to get rid of unwanted content, just enter 1024 in the first box and make sure that the "maintain proportions" or "keep aspect ratio" box is checked.

The 1024 x 768 pixel size is a good choice in that the photo will be big enough for us blind as bats members to still see detail while keeping the file size manageable (usually between 120-250kb).

Just learned something new (to me)  If you are using Microsoft 7 you can resize a picture through this program.

I switched to W7 when XP ... my favourite system - was discontinued but I seem to get along okay with it in general.
Downsize a pic?  Right click, go to 'Edit' ... then the resize option on the toolbar that comes up.

For a little clarification... Right click on the picture to be resized.  When box opens, go to 'Edit' this will open new window and the option toolbar that comes up will allow to resize by percentage or pixels!  Thanks again Jim!

Tom I am trying to post pics on the hanger and can't get them on there it says I have a 413 error. I have them in my pictures on the computer. I don't have a photo bucket as stated above. I browsed and selected them and then when I preview the post I get the error. I am A LOT better at building airplanes then using the computer. I am getting frustrated Please help. Bob Jr.

Pictures that are on your own computer can not be "inserted" into a post. In order to use the "insert" function you must first have your pics uploaded to a web site like flickr.com or photobucket.com (you need to sign up with them)

Then, using 'insert' you add a link to the picture within your post. Your photobucket account provides the necessary link. When the post here in the forum is viewed the pictures will be where the links have been placed.
