Ok! There are (3) so far who would like to continue with the COMET DIMER COOK UP:

Mitch J.            Globe Swift
Tom Akery
Bob Rippy      bigrip74      Art Chester's Racer

I just recieved my wood and would like to start cutting on my Chester Racer and maybe on the Vultee Attack as well.

contemplate building one. His comments concern the size of
the stab, how well they fly and the size of the (hand carved)
props he recommends. Here are his observations:

TJH, we are still in the recruitment stage then the time frame that everyone needs to ring in on. So even at a year there are many DIMERS that will let you enjoy being a part of the cookup.

Can't wait to see these builds. I am involved in too many other things right now so I will watch from the sidelines. I was about a year and a half early with my Great Lakes.

Just for info: Divisions of rubber powered airplanes - http://www.stickandtissue.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1332608742

A couple of paragraphs down states Dime Scale is 16" wingspan for FAC (Flying Aces Club)...

Put me down for a Dime Scale cookup also... still picking out the model!

Ok! there are two now  for the Comet Dimer Cookup, if you need any plans for this cookup let me know. I also have a write up by Dave Stott on flying charicteristics of several Comet Dime Scale, which fly best and what needs to be done.

G'day all;
Tom,what I probably should have said was that the 2 print-wood sheets were a different size to each other-I should have realised before I started cutting them out. Like I said, they are free plans so I'm not complaining!

Bob ,I did end up using the % reduction function but thanks anyway! Also, I will wait till we get some more people on board before I start (gives me more chance to finish other things first!).

Cheers guys!!

@ Mitch: I just found out how to use % to either increase or decrease a plan, but I still have to print one first to play with it then figure out the % that l want. Sorry not much help at the moment, but will love to see your dimer built.

@ Tom: I had run campaigns on armorama.com in the past  and they would ask for (10) but I like (5) better so as soon as the magic number arrives we will take a poll on time frame and then start the cookup. l am still going to build the Art Chester's Racer and have just printed the full size plan for a Comet Vultee Attack (which l have been battling with more than 5 sets of tiled copies in order to get just one one to align once for over a year) but the new/used printer solved the problem along with discovering pdf poster function which made me a happy Grin camper I just put together a set for the
Vultee Attack which will be my 2nd. build for this cookup. Mitch I hear ya re: the cant wait mode and chomping at the bits to go Cheesy

Mitch,
I'm not sure if this is the case with your plans, but often the plans are reduced and the parts sheets are full size.

Bob,  we have been pretty easy when it comes to cookup rules.  Unless the participants want a particular time limit build like the 24 hour build at SFA.  I see no problem with a year or unlimited time for the cookup if that's what the participants want.  We like to get at least a minimum of 5 participants before calling it an official cookup.  Usually the fellow who starts the cookup keeps an eye on it and oversees how things are going.  We'll keep an eye on things and assist with what we can.  You may want to set the parameters to Comet Dime Scale plans and any other things you wish.

G'day Bob,
I'm not sure when you wanted to start this cook-up but i couldn't wait. I got a plan from Outerzone & started to cut out the paper templates then realised the 2 print-wood pages on the plans are different sizes (fist pic)! I then found the plans on HPA & found the same thing! I should be able to play around with the photo copier to reduce the larger sheet down to the correct size though. Oh well,i cant complain-these things happen when you get the plans for free (it's ok,i still love you Outerzone!) The second pic is the rest of the plan. I recon this will be a good build!

Cheers mate!!
