You can still buy those under bed storage boxes. A company named Earl Industries makes them I think.
A great source for large flat cardboard is a furniture shop. That's where I get mine.
I have a box made for a box that housed a new radiator. Works great and holds three planes. Could hold more.

Cheapest I could find. I have one in the truck. Might try a dollar store.

Robert: l don't know if these will be of use or not, but the transportation boxes here have been tested and do a good job. l hope the pdf images and instructions help.

Cardboard model boxes.

20 years ago before my hiatus, I was able to buy large flat cardboard 'under-bed' storage boxes for a buck or so a piece.  They were light and a good size for small rubber models.

Today I went looking for some and so far have come up empty-handed.  Are they even made anymore?  I _don't_ want to use the plastic ones due to cost and weight.

I am resigned to making them from cut down boxes if need be (might be stronger that way?)
