Terry...your resurrection of this aircraft is an inspiration to all of us!  Keep up the great work.  As with the others I look forward to hearing of her aerial pursuits.

Thanks guys! I must admit I am quite happy how it turned out! Now for the real fun-getting it to fly! Tom, I see what you mean about the Blackbird! I think the paintbrush got away from me during my plastic modeling days! (I'm also chuffed to see you used my "before & after" shots on the home page-that made me laugh!) Hopefully have some flight reports when the weather is nice to me!

Cheers!!

That's pretty sweet Mitch! I'm amazed that you took that pile of sticks and tissue and made it look that good. Absolutely sure I'd have never tried it.  Smiley

Looks great Mitch... I always find something in my posted pictures that I forgot to do.  That's the fun of posting the pictures, they don't lie to us.  They show us just what we've got.  Although I do like the flash washing out the wrinkles in the tissue.  Makes it look better than what I really did! Grin Wink Cool

Looks like a stealthy SR-71 silhouette on the background there! Grin Cheesy Wink

G'day all;
Well here she is,all ready to fly!Bedroom & back yard glides look good so when the weather is kind to me I'll see if I can get it to fly! Looking at the pic I'm posting,I just realised I didnt cover or paint the nose & tail blocks.(or do the Phoenix thing either-although I dont think even this lucky bird would have returned from a fire!) Oh well it will do for now!

Cheers!

mitch,

The repairs look great!  If I may, I think this a/c needs a name: "Phoenix".

By the way,here is a pic of it after the dogs did their thing. Allot of the damage is not really visable in this shot-there was a heap of cracked ribs & damage to the sides of the fuse also. I also ended up stripping off all the tissue as well.

The other day I decided to re-build my Hemiptere (you may remember my mutts smashing it to bits a while ago) & all of a sudden its nearly finished!(again!) I couldnt resist a quick moc-up so here is a pic. At the moment it weighs about 21 grams,including nose block & prop,minus rubber. Still need to finish the wheels,do some panel lines & maybe a few decals too. Considering what sort of mess it was before,& the fact that I decided not to be too fussy with it this time,I'm really supprised (& happy!) at how its turned out! If it wasnt for all the work I put into the top deck & nose sheeting,I probably wouldnt have worried about it-but I'm glad I did! Now I cant wait to fly it!!

Cheers for now!!
