Wow! What a nice tool Keithhs, looks like a pleasure to use.  Are you a machinist?

Tom! You have good eyes (or read the instructions).  Now that you mention it I see my MASTER AIRSCREW BALSA STRIPPER does have a width scale on it.  In spite of the CONS we've listed it can't be beat for the price.

Hi Y'all....I've used two Master Balsa Strippers, still currently using one of them now.  My Master stripper had raised ridges on the base and one on the moving arm for 1/8 increments. I highlited the ridges with a white gel pen.

I received a gift of the A2Z Dan McLeod Balsa Stripper.  If it hadn't been a gift I wouldn't own one!

I'm still learning how to use the "expensive" A2Z stripper.  Need a bit of room to use it.  I'm sure it's because of using the Master Balsa Stripper that I'm still adjusting to using it.  You move the balsa through the stripper instead of moving the stripper(as in the Master Balsa stripper)!

So you need room on each end of the stripper to move a 24-36 inch sheet of balsa through it!  I don't have the room in my current setup.  It does give more consistant square sticks 1/32 to 1/4 sq sticks.

l wanted to get some opinions on balsa stripers, which are you using and the pros and cons:

l use the MASTER AIRSCREW:

PROS
$
fast to set up
good for soft to medium wood

CONS
blade slips some
not good for hard wood

I use, and would say, the same except have not had the blade slip (yet).  Another CON is the lack of any scale for setting it.  Must use a ruler and/or cut a test strip and measure.
