Styrofoam works decent. You can glue scraps together to get any size you want. Should be able to find it behind most stores.
The blue foam can be found around most construction sites.
White foam is easy around furniture stores and such.
I found free foam on craigs list once.

Hope this helps.

talsteen, I have not thought of that so the next time I am at Home Depot I will check it out thanks. I just checked out Great Planes and they are out of the boards that I had been looking for originally.

Go to Lowe's and get a piece of 4' X 8' fibre insolation.  Works as good as ceiling tile and about $10 a sheet.  Cut whatever size you need.  Can build any size model with some left over.

Bob,
I made several suggestions as the others on the dime scale cookup.  But thought of another one you might consider, if you have a recycle/used building supplies business in your area they may have what you're looking for in the celotex ceiling tile!

That really doesn't surprise me with a big chain store, I guess. I hate how impersonal things have become. Maybe search the yellow pages for a little "Mom and Pop" builder's supply like we have here. These guys always have damaged tiles laying around (good help is hard to find). That's how I got my last one and it cost me nothing.

David, I love Home Depot, but they only offer a package of 6-10 or more and I just don't have the room to store the extras or want to spend the $ for the package. Thanks for the info.

Bob, I was all set to suggest you look at the balsa boards offered on the Tower site, but they are listed as temporarily unavailable. Surely there's a Home Depot or Lowe's around you that would offer you a 2X4 ceiling tile.

Tower will replenish their stock sooner or later, but it could be too much later. If I see, or think of anything that would work I'll holler back.

BUILDING BOARD?

Hey guys I need a little help in finding a second building board. I went to Guillows web page to purchase another building board, but cannot find it anywhere on their site. I am also unable to find any ceiling tiles here, so could any one head me to a site that offers a board (inexpensive). I wanted to have a second board to be able to start another COMET DIMER and to have my KK Senator going at the same time.
