Tom,
I still think Bob wasn't refering to any Model of a 'Texan'.

Dave...I married a "Texan" 45 years ago and I'm learning to speak fluent "Texan".  So when I wrote Google the "Texan" I was talking "Lingo" so that Google sorted out the topic for us!  Being one who now speaks a mix of So. CA/Texan due to my exposure for so long.  It helps me find what I'm looking for, then I can click on the site that Google has sorted out for me!  I tried going directly to Outerzone and didn't have any luck either.   Cheesy Roll Eyes Shocked Grin Wink Smiley

Of course the NAA Texan is a good choice for a Racer as well.  As a matter of fact.  There are a nice range of plans for the NAA Texan. Check out Tim's build of his "Harvard" Canadian/British name for the Texan:Click Here

Guys...all these choices does make choosing very difficult.  That's why our "To Do List" keeps growing everyday.  Keep looking till one just moves to the top of the list.  Leave the others on the list and let them simmer till, "it's soup"! Smiley

George Bredehoft ( Volare Products) has a good selection of racer plans.
Go to-
http://volareproducts.com/BUY/index.php?main_page=index

Click on 'kits and plans', then 'Volare Plans' then P-nut, then Scale.

Unfortunately,
He's on 'vacation' now.

Tom,
This is funny.
I think Bob, being from Texas, was having issues finding what you found on Outerzone.

Ok here's some plans thumbnails from Outerzone mostly just googled for Schneider Cup racers.

Bob the secret is Google the Texan then click on images after the search.  The pics of the plans come up and then you can click on - view the plan or go to page.  Which in this case was mostly Outerzone!  Easy!

David, here is an old rule that I used in the past. Place the plans and a photo of the airplane in front of the wife and let her choose. I works and lessons the stress level.

Sounds like a workable plan to me. I just know she'll pick one that I'll still be working on when the cows come home.  Cool

Did I ever mention that my glass is always half empty?? Smiley

That IS a wealth of information. My brain is on overload! Shocked Good thing I've got few days to think it out.

Thanks, Tom and Bob. The Curtis R-6 and The Macchi float plane both look interesting. But, so does the Seversky P-35... and the Verville-Sperry R-3.

THIS IS HOPELESS!!!

Tom, that is a wealth of information. I did not get the same results so I guess Outerzone does not understand Texan Wink

Here's a unique Schneider Cup racer the Piaggio PC.7.  You won't have to deal with floats.

Here's a link to see about this unusual aircraft: Click Here

Plans available here on HPA  Dec. 14 2008 post: Click Here
Here's a pic of this bird.

I wish some one would build a Schneider Cup Racer.  So many really cool float planes!

I looked, but finding a plan that doesn't confuse the #@*% out of me doesn't seem to be happening.

I'm on a different tanget now - a Texan. I'll go back and forth at least a dozen more times before we start.  Tongue
