The OE-2 kit is now available.  Naturally, only in the "Marine green" skin.  I will post some in-flight videos as soon as I get the action cam I got for my birthday working.

Great news and congrats on the successful trimming and flying.  Any picture/viedos of the flights?

Flew the OE-2 at CBS Studios (Studio City) on the 4th and at Stonehurst on the 8th.  Got it trimmed out with a couple of flights at CBS and demonstrated it the rest of the session.  (Black Sheep Exhibition Squadron has been flying in a sound stage at CBS as part of their 4th of July Festival entertainment for several years.)  We were not in one of the larger sound stages, but since the ceiling was so high that The A/C vents were up in the rafters.  The air conditioning did not bother anyone's models of the models (Well, that much anyway.) and they were nice enough to send someone to turn it off after an hour.  Fortunately, the day was relatively cool.  I also flew my P-36, Wright Amount of Wrong, and Irish Jumping Bean designs as well as my Old School A-frame pusher.  Between the R/C guys and us freeflighters we put on a good show.

Today, at Stonehurst, was very different.  We could not turn the A/C off and it was keeping the OE-2 from climbing.  I switched from 1/16" rubber to 3/32" rubber to get more penetration and it worked fine.  I had it consistently skimming the 24 foot ceiling.  As soon as I finish writing the plans and work the kinks out of my fixture for bending the landing gear wire it will go on my web site. If nothing else gets in the way it should be available Friday.

Outstanding KF...love the looks of this bird.  Look forward to more pics and videos.  Good luck with the trimming.

Here's what the OE-2 looks like assembled.  First short test flight promising.  Can't wait to get it to Stonehurst Wednesday.

Bob,

I just checked my site and it seems to be working.  The link is www.hjlmodels.com .  Please, let me know if you have any more trouble with it.

The OE-2, Bird Dog II, was built just for the Marines.  It was made from 180 components, not 170 components and had a supercharged engine with a geared, constant speed prop.  It also had self-sealing tanks and armor.  Performancewise it was a Bird Dog and a half.  They only built 25 to 27 of them.

Kittyfritters...this one should be a great flyer.  I've always like the Birddog.  It was one of my first models.

Here's the next one, the Cessna OE-2.  It and the A-7 should be on the web site the second week in July.
