Now that the Bonanza has flown, here it is. 16" W/S from modified Joe Ott/Whitman plan. Flown on loop of 1/8" rubber. AUW in flight is 16.0 grams. Structure coloured with watercolour and sharpie felts before covering. The in-flight pics are taken from a video and are a little blurry.

This is a 16" W/S stick job I designed for playing with a twin motor setup. I call it Bronco Billy since it is loosely modeled after the OV-10 Bronco. It weighs in at 20 grams. I tested it just before dark with a loop of 1/16" rubber per motor to get an idea of balance in the glide before upping power. It seems to glide best with balance at about 40 to 50% of chord. The wing uses an I-beam spar of 1/32 stock for the center section and a T-spar for the outer section.

Most of the 20 grams weight lies in the props and the motor sticks. The bones for the wing weighed in at 2.2 grams, covered it was 3.8 grams and painted it was 4.4 grams.

Adding the Piaggio PC-7 Schneider Cup racer of 1929 to the stable. 13" wingspan, 20.0 grams excluding rubber.

Plan by Paul Del Gatto on outerzone. Original was 13" W/S http://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=8248
also on HPA http://www.hippocketaeronautics.com/hpa_plans/details.php?image_id=1459&mode=sea...
The Left wing is also shorter than the right wing for a better transition as a HLG.

Great looking glider, too bad about the two aborted flights.  But she is an intriguing shape.  Where'd you find the plans?

We had our church's annual Turkey dinner and gift exchange last night. I usually make a S&T model for the event, but due to unforeseen circumstances I did not have sufficient time to build one, so I opted to build a glider, the Tiny Tandem at 75% - 9 3/4" Wingspan. Fuselage was 1/8" rock hard balsa. Wing was 3/32" sanded to an airfoil shape, Stab was 1/16" and rudders were 1/32". Flying weight was 6.6 g. The recipient gave it a couple of tosses at the dinner. The first toss was too hard and it hit the low ceiling. The second toss was lower, but at too steep an angle, and went about 40 feet before stalling and landing on another table. Properly launched, it has a nice floating glide.

Meet the modified Throw Up. I used this glider with a 9" wingspan to teach basic aerodynamics to a kid's class a while ago. It is a fast build and flies pretty well. I modified the wing to be constructed of 1/16 sheet. the other flying surfaces are 1/32 and the fuselage is 1/8. These two are going to a couple of kids we are visiting tomorrow.

Latest addition: Dick Baxter's F-100 (from plans on HPA). (building time: 7 days) I thought that it would look better before I stuck the prop on. The bones shot weighed 2.1 g. I covered it with some tissue that I had painted with 2 coats of "Future" pre-shrunk on a frame. The tissue weighed in at 2.45 g/sq.ft. The model without prop or rubber weighs 5.4 grams. I decided to finish with an RCAF paint scheme with a red thunderbolt added to the nose. The roundels and maple leaves are cut from tissue.

The wall collision had me gritting my teeth and cringing (the same thing I do every time one of mine smacks something), but it looks like a well behaved little airplane. Would have never thought of the mods that you did.  I gotta admit, I like it. I really do want to build one of my own one of these days.

Time to add the redraughted Frog Linnet to the stable. Test flown with 1 loop of 1/8" tan and 300 winds at an all up weight, inclulding 2 lead pellets and rubber at 22 g.
https://youtu.be/c-bTTkIwCIs
video includes the model making a basket at the end, but landing unharmed.

She's a beaut Ian!  Well done.  I think the kids will enjoy her!  I like the geodesic looking construction. Have a great Christmas Party!
