Thanks, Mike...I'll get there eventually.  I took the Vega out for a few tosses yesterday and that proved NOT so satisfying.  It all goes to demonstrate (over and over again) that building is one thing and getting them to fly right is another.  Right now I'm feeling as though I build display models of what are supposed to be flying models.  Wink Embarrassed  Does anyone else feel that way?  I definitely admire those out there who can truly get 'em to fly!  FreeFlight is a real skill! Smiley

The Heath is a jaunty little bird Neal!  Have you been able to resist the temptation to take it out in the back yard, put a few winds on it and give it a toss?

Latest is a tribute to a great airplane and a great aviator...Lockheed's Vega and Roscoe Turner.

Model was constructed from a 1938 Comet dime-scale plan of Wiley Post's Winnie Mae...16" wingspan.  Scheme represents the Nevada Airlines aircraft NC-7954 as flown by Roscoe Turner in the 1929 National Air Races.

I give you Bennie Howard's DGA-6 Mister Mulligan, one of the most famous racing aircraft in the world...winner of the 1935 Bendix and Thompson Trophies...the only aircraft to accomplish that challenge in the same year.  Aircraft was flown in both events by Harold Neumann.

This model is from the Comet Model Company's 1938 catalog, 16" wingspan...price: one dime.

That's not even the half of it, guys!  I've got 'em all over my shop, ceiling walls, in the family room, in the bedrooms...they're everywhere, they're everywhere! (Sounds like an invasion cry!)  I think that I've easily exceeded the total number of models that I ever constructed as a kid...plastic or otherwise!  And this doesn't even consider those that I've given away...or committed to the "model graveyard"...and yet, still, I go on building.  Cheesy Grin Grin Grin  It's called, Love of the HobbySmiley

I love the planes hanging from the ceiling... well done.  I've done a similar thing in my building space off the laundry room.  But some of my planes are inverted.  I just say their at the top of an inside loop!!! Smiley Cheesy Grin  I've also started to hang them by the horizontal stab, nose down along the walls and over the windows.

I often wondered where you put all those airplanes, guess I should have known that they would take up a lot of space on a shelf, shows better your way anyway.

Love that little Macchi seaplane!  I've looked at that plan a few times, and stashed away a little Air Hogs capacitor-powered pusher with the thought I might be able to fly it with that.  Great collection of builds.
