Sorry to hear, Neal. Will keep you in our prayers. But people can still recover from a stroke and regain function. Our minds still work, even if a bit fuzzy. Keep on lurking.

Neal,
So sorry to hear about the physical challenges.  Please know you'll be in our thoughts and prayers.  As Conrad said, your experience and knowledge will always be of use on this site!  I hope that with therapy your motor skill will return.  Keep checking in to  the site from time to time.  Look forward to hearing from you in the future!  The best to you in the days to come!

I’m so sorry to hear this.

I more than understand the frustration one is experiencing with the loss of one’s motor skills.

But if it isn’t too frustrating to type, I think you can still have a huge positive impact on this site sharing your skills and knowledge.

I’d love to still see you on this forum.

All the best,

Konrad

Neal,

I'm so sorry for your loss - do what's right for you. The hobby brought you joy in the past, and will be here should you find it might give you joy once more.

This is as good a spot as any to announce my departure from our hobby.  I have recently lost my wife to alzheimer's disease.  She was my life-long friend and companion...married for the past 50 years...friends of 62 years.  Needless to say, I am devastated.  There is nothing I've ever done, no where I've ever been that she has not been with me...at least in my heart.  I'm having a very difficult time coping.  Everything else has receded so far into the background, that modeling just isn't going to happen.  It no longer matters.

I suppose many would have just shut up and disappeared, but I wanted to say thank you for your time and indulgence, friends.  Good bye.

Bit of an update on my hangar...Guillows Rumpler CV...more like a CIV...not that it matters.  Project is unfinished...seems that's occurring more and more lately.  I first constructed an example of this kit back around 1964...finish was in deep blue tissue with green dope camo...more like the original Guillows box art envisioned.  Lozenge pattern is computer printed as are most of the markings.  The fuselage "3" are water-transfers...all else are tissue "cals."  Tried to use the originals, but too old and brittle...cracked n' crumbled.  Oh well...out with the old...in with the new.
