Please Note:  There was a typo in the rules posted here.  ANY 500 SERIES KIT IS ALLOWED!

Someone pointed it out to me and I have corrected it.

I really don't know.   Wink

When I set it up it was just a way to differentiate it from the original Challenge which was to get the 500 series Stuka to fly, (Which several people did, by the way.) and make it a general challenge for Guillow's kits.   The name sort of sounded right and I stuck with it.  You are the first person to question it in 12 years!

I may be asking a dumb question but what does the "G" stand for in Guillows "G" challenge?  Is that a range of their kits, a scale size, or etc.  Just curious.  Might want to join in if I knew what the "G" was for!

2016 Guillow's "G" Challenge -- "Leftovers"

For those who have not participated, this is the 12th year of the Guillow's "G" Challenge.  Many people have started a model for a Challenge in past years and for one reason or another not finished it.  So the theme of this year's Challenge is "Leftovers".  The Challenge is for any model that would qualify for any of the past Challenges since 2004.  Now, that doesn't mean that if you don't have a legitimate 'leftover' you can't build a new one.  In fact I would welcome it.

Here are the rules.  (Abbreviated due to the 5000 character limit on this post. Go to the group for the complete rules.)

2016 Guillow's "G" Challenge Rules

"Leftovers  Challenge"

1. Eligibility:

a. The "G" Challenge is open to anyone in the world.

b. There is no entry fee.

c. You must have a Yahoo login ID and join the group Guillows "G" Challenge.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/guillows_g_challenge

d. This group and the Challenge were created and are maintained by its moderator for the enjoyment of Guillow's model enthusiasts and has no official
connection with Paul K. Guillow, Inc.

2. Prizes:

a. There are three first prizes for 2016, Overall Appearance and Flying, Best Appearance, and Best Electric Free-Flight or R/C Conversion.

b. A Guillow's kit prize will be awarded to each first prize winner

c. You may enter more than one model.

d. All models will be judged for appearance.  A rubber powered model is considered for the Overall
prize simply by posting a flying time for it in  the entry database.  Electric Free-Flight and R/C conversions must post a video of at least a one minute flight.

3. Eligible models:

a: The 2016 Challenge is for any Guillow's kit that was eligible for any Challenge from 2004 to 2015.  The goal is to get all the unfinished "leftovers" from previous Challenges finished and entered in 2016.  Of course, if you don't have a genuine leftover you are free to build a new one.
