Tom:  Yes, the Das Splat is strange with the servo placement.  With the motor and battery at the very front, servos at rear and receiver under the wing, it balances perfect without any additional weight.  The servos are actually as far back as the wires allow to make that happen.
They stick out way to far for my taste - if I had planned on this ahead of time, I would have counter sunk them a bit.

Nice!

With the "Das Splat"  we Free Flight  guys usually figure for every 1 gram in the empennage it takes 6 grams to counter that in the nose of the aircraft.

Just haven't seen the servos for the rudder and elevator so far back on the fuselage.  They both look great!

U-Control time!!!  I found this kit in my stash as well and I had only built one of the two planes.  So, here it is.  A Combat Kitten converted to electric.  Firepower 400 motor and 450 mah lipo battery, 25 mah ESC mounted externally.  I'll be flying this soon.

Das Splat Jr.   I found these old plans and a half completed fuselage in my wood stash.  I put this together to give RC flying a try again before flying my Sinbad Jr.  Park 450 with a 750 mah lipo.   but now that Das Splat is done - it looks real fast  Angry
