I had designed this unit so it would fit in almost anything and yes it will fit in the R6 perfectly but I want to try it in something a little less complex that would be quicker to build, the R6 took 6 months so I will be doing something with a much simpler structure with a target weight of 28.4 grams, the gear box came in at 5.5 grams so that leaves me with 22.9 grams but I could go heavier if I have to, up to 2 ounces.

Cheers, Ray K.

Hello Pete,

You do not need to order any parts simply fit the Jetranger with the chopsticks main rotor assembly, the chopstick plans will show you everything you need to know to make this, I will post a copy of the plans here.

Thanks Ray.  I'd like to build it for this season, however a lot of things that have conspired against my getting anything related to fun done.  I am, on a positive note, know locally to somehow manage to squeeze fun things into just about any situation Grin Wink.

It's too bad all of the details about the new head/blades went blooey with SFA.  Do, or did you have anything archived that you could re-post here?  Ordering the unit is almost prohibitively expensive (shipping), especially with the current exchange rate and my income is fixed, and the shipping time out of the States has gotten as bad as that from China.  Still not completely out of the question, tho.

Hello Pete,

The vintage of the Jet Ranger kit was 1996 that makes it 20 years old wow I am getting old and yes the Ranger would benefit from the new rotor hub/blade design.
I would love to see you build it, I think I still have the original plan and pattern sheets.

Pete... it's TurboCAD 12 but not the "pro" version.  I like the looks of the Jet Ranger Ray posted.  These heli's are really intriguing !  Can't stop thinking about them.

Good to see you here, Ray!  I have one of your early Jet Ranger kits that I picked up from a Canadian toward the end of '12 who was slimming down his kit stash.  Original, sealed in the shipping carton as he got from you (he never opened it!).  I'm not sure of the actual vintage, as he had removed the original shipping sticker.

I have been wondering if it would benefit from your new rotor blade design?

Tom: You answered my question before about which version of TurboCad you use, but I've forgotten... I've finally gotten my TC 21 update installed and am slowly (very!) familiarizing myself with the new features.

Willing to give it a whirl, Ray.
I'm no master at it.  But I'm willing to try.  Scan them and email them to me.  Check your PM where I'll give you my email address.

Hey Tom,

Yes the Rotodyne is an autogyro, I will post some pictures of it with the rotors on it tomorrow.

A question I have Tom, do you do cad work, if I was to send you plans and patterens could you convert my drawings into cad so that my lazer guy could do the kit cutting, to make it worth your time I would offer you a free kit?

Cheers, Ray K.  Wink
