I too am very excited about this project because it is incorporating all new mechanics and will have pitch adjustable tail rotors. This will be either one of my better achievements or another downer like the R6.  Tongue

I'm really looking forward to this one Ray.  I tend to build like you.  Over do the strength and engineering but my engineering is usually "TLAR" engineering.  You know, (That Looks About Right)! Cheesy Wink Grin

Thanks Tom,

So far she is pretty light, I just have to be careful and choose my wood and other building materials wisely to keep her weight down as much as possible, I tend to over build or over engineer sometimes so I will have to keep myself in check.
My target weight goal is 40 grams or less.

Cheers, Ray K. P.S. more pictures coming in a day or two.  Wink

Ray,
From the looks she's only a piggy in girth not in weight.  Looks fantastic and light!!!

Sorry Ray, they're on 35mm slides and I haven't done any digital conversions.  Most of them were the standard green camo of the 1970's.  There were a couple with teeth/shark mouths but mostly non-spectacular camo schemes.

Hey Tom, you wouldn't happen to have other color schemes that you could post here do you? It would be much appreciated.

It won't be super scale like the R6 but it will be close enough to do the job, trying to save as much weight as possible, side frames are now complete will start the rest of the fuselage structure in a day or two then transmission work.

WoW Ray...love the Huey!  I have lots of slides of them from McClellan AFB as they passed through the area on the transit ramp.  Along with the Huey Cobras.  I remember one Marine Cobra pilot, Lt. Rock Savage...great name for a Cobra pilot and it was his real name!!!  He told of his flight of three Cobras playing chase through the canyons of the High Sierras when a Rutan VariEze locked on their six and followed them through the canyons.  They finally shook him when they all lifted out of the canyons and surrounded him.  Waved at him and broke off to the Air Base.

I really look forward to this build!

I have started my new helicopter build, it is a Bell UH-1N, I will post some pictures by the weekend of my progress, it is pretty big and will have the new gearbox and a new main rotor head design. I put the Kaman Sea sprite on the side for now because I really wanted to do this one and it will give me the opportunity to test out the new rotor head assembly.
