Here are the finished rotor blades, each one comes out to 2.6 grams and are fully balanced, I will be mounting these tomorrow and do a tracking test under low power.

Main rotor blades, 12 inches long each plus main rotor hub and lead lag wires will give me a total main rotor DIA of 28 inches.  Wink

Tests today were successful, shafts and transmission worked perfectly,  Cheesy no more issues here, on to making rotor blades. I will post video tomorrow.

You got that right Tom, all repairs are completed, good as new and I did not forget the steel insert shaft this time around, had to go to work early so I will try another test tomorrow.  Wink

Bummer Ray!
Glad the damage wasn't worse than it was!  I guess I'm gonna have to make a pre-flight check list to make sure I've covered all the bases before stretching that rubber band!!!

Amazing that you've done the IRAN (Inspect Repair As Needed) already and are almost ready to test again.

Good news is that everything is repairable and has already been repaired, no serious damage was done. The transmission held up just fine. I will be ready to try another power test tomorrow.  Smiley

I did not know that Bob, thanks. I loaded the rubber motor for testing today and that's when disaster struck!

Main rotor shaft bent, ripped out the pulley belt drive from the tail rotor and bent the tail rotor shaft, never had this happen before. I found out that I had forgot to put the stainless steel insert shaft into the main rotor shaft, without this the main rotor shaft bent over like tinfoil.

Cheers, Ray K.

I use those "loom bands" as clamps, but they deteriorate fairly rapidly, within months.

Thanks Ray...always looking for modeling material outside of the Hobby Shop.  I'm sure I've seen them in the Craft Dept of Wally World!
