Bummer. Haven't lost mine yet, just a matter of time! Best flying stick fuselage model I've ever seen/flown. Seems that they are no longer being sold. Sad

The Blue Ridge Special flew away today on its second flight. First flight was to check balance and general flight trim. All was well so I put in 1000  turns and put it up.

Of course it flew away. Merde!

Thank you.
I haven't built many scale models. Kind of learning my way. Also, I am a slow builder. That coupled with work, means they take a long time to get done.
I am finally retiring in November, though, so things are looking up!

A Stahl Taylorcraft. It flies well. The wings and struts are held on with magnets, which has done much to prevent damage during unplanned arrivals.

A Druine Turbulent. I blew up a Mooney peanut plan. It flies well, although pilot error caused a crash. It is being repaired. The foam pilot's name is Nigel. (He is a member of the Tiger Club, as evidenced by the insignia.)

Not shown in the picture are card stock trim tabs on the rudder and left wing. Really helps in getting max winds on the little brute. I launch mine almost straight up.

Serious overkill on the covering job for an airplane that is almost guaranteed to fly away. Yes, the tissue matches the ribs. A lot of our guys cover in colors that fade fast. Light orange is not good for keeping in sight!
I got a 10 minute flight out of the last one, then blew it up winding. Repaired, it flew away on its first test hop.

Great looking airplanes....CLG's are highly addicting and yours looks fantastic.  I love the finish on your Blue Ridge Special.  Are the ribs angled to match the tissue pattern?  Sounds like you have a real winner there.  I'll have to look into building one!  Thanks for the pics...looking good!

A Vampire catapult jet for FAC comps. Not fully trimmed out yet, but shows great promise. It is a laser cut kit from Retro RC, and I recommend it highly.

The latest production. A Blue Ridge Special. Our club has a hotly contested running competition with these things. BRS is the best flying small airplane I have ever seen. Trimmed well for high power, it is a bomb. I use 1 loop of 1/8" rubber, and wind it til it squeaks. Climbs like a tiny rocket, and gets very high. I have 2 more under construction, because this one will fly away.
