Hey man,
    What happened with this model?
How did it turn out?
I'm very curious  because I'm building the same kit,
(slightly different).
See my thread above.  Huh

Thanks guys.  My intent was to let the filler valve 'dangle', even tho the model is quite robustly built (all framework 3/32nd).  Not having experience with GMOT/Gasparins, I had to ask.  My last play with CO2 was with Browns and OKs back in the late 50's-early 60's, valve hard mounted in all sheet models...

Tissue:  I would have (SHOULD have) run he light yellow thru the printer, but 'I tawt I had enough (Duh)'.  Can't print what is already on the plane and "lightening" a dark/denser color is too complicated (bleaching) and the timing is too close to the event in Nijmegen.  I'm presently working up a paint/ink mix to do the flight surfaces.

I was really hoping to get away without having to paint, as I usually do it outdoors, but the weather has gone cold and damp...  The three plastic parts (cowl and wheel spats/pants) are small enough to do in the small spray booth in my hobby cave.

Regarding the filler valve assembly, I let mine dangle on the two models I built many years ago. (Peck Baby Ace, and Flyline Velie Monocoupe.) This allowed me to hold the filler nozzle with one hand while filling. The pressure required to press the charger nozzle onto the filler nozzle would have easily broken the fuselage on my models.

Pete, are you able to print your own tissue? I have had some success with varying the shade.

The problem I was afraid of with the tissue was affirmed Angry.  The new batch arrived yesterday and the yellow is about four shades darker (almost a cub yellow - actually, the correct color/shade) and much denser than what I have used on all the flying surfaces.  I'd really hate to strip and re-cover, 'specially since the parts have remained warp free (no dope yet).  A light coat of paint or dye is an option that I'm contemplating.

Another area that I'm a bit unclear about is the CO2 tank.  The GMOT tank is a screw-on unit with an 'O' ring gasket, which will require maintenance.  the plan show what appears to be a trap door under the tank - which is not the issue.  The filler valve is the shady character.

Should the filler valve assembly be semi-rigidly mounted or 'left to dangle' (the valve body just clears the bottom of the fuselage)?

More like a major brain-fahrt.  I know that changing scripting defaults to the main menu, but I was indecisive/apprehensive/in-a-rush about the whole thing, so I short-circuited.  No real harm done, other than the time, as I'm also out of white.

I also had a long conversation with the owner of the store, primarily about the cost of the paper (which is set by a single distributor here) and we digressed to the general decline in the modeling scene.  Even his "store" and online sales is more of a "pass-time".  Hopefully, he'll have the package in the mail by this evening so I should have it by Saturday.

The one sheet, plus a bit of another, of yellow was not enough to cover the model Angry.  Waiting for order confirmation for a big batch of paper out of England has 'forced' me to make an emergency order to the German supplier (at nearly three times the price!).  Ordered three sheets of yellow (or so I thought) and two days later (today) the package arrived!  VERY nicely and LOOSELY folded in a rather large box (tube mailers are NOT favored here!), with hardly a crease, were three sheets of WHITE!!!

My fault entirely, as when I went thru the ordering masks, I had forgotten to 'allow' scripting for the site - doing so in the middle of the process...  Trouble is, the change defaulted the color choice back to 'white' and I didn't check (THREE opportunities Embarrassed)!

Ordered the yellow a few minutes ago...

SHEEE-oot Angry

Covering on the wings is nearly done.  Bottoms of both are "shiny side out" and the tops are "dull side out".  At least they'll match Roll Eyes!

Weathering makes the upper surfaces duller than those underneath anyway.  That's my reasoning and I'm sticking with it... Roll Eyes Grin...

This is going to be a great model Pete.  I can't wait to see her finished and I know you'll have her in the air soon!

The green is almost a perfect match to the green Esaki that I have, so I'll be literally cutting and pasting Grin.  More points scarfed this way in 'Kit-Scale'.

I'm liking this scheme.  There's a lot of lettering to achieve the look.  Will you be printing on tissue to achieve this Pete?

I'm sure everyone already knows this, Citabria is Airbatic backwards!!!
