	OK Bob...we'll put you down....this is going to be fun. Haven't built a float plane since Columbus shortly landed in Florida!!! Looks like the Italians will be dominating this Schneider Cup race/build!! Edit: with our latest additions we have the French joining in with the British and potential U.S. so the Italians will have plenty of competition! 	With Terry and Brad that makes this official... we have a Schneider Trophy Cup Cookup going. Guys this is an open ended build to be finished when you get it finished. A rough target is December 31,2017 To keep this as a cookup all post should be in this thread. Keeps the cookup together and we can all see each one's progress as we post our own progress. So please don't start individual threads for your builds. This will keep all the Sneider Trophy planes together in this one section. This is what makes a cookup different from individual builds. They don't have to have actually flown in the races, just were made for the races and attempted to fly!!! 1911 to 1931. I now declare the Sneider Trophy Cookup open and active. Do we have a list of planes yet? 1. Sky9pilot is doing the Macchi Castoldi MC-72 2. Staubkorb is doing the Piaggio 3. Brad is doing the Piaggio also 4. Terryman is doing the Sopwith Schneider (am I right here Terry?) 5. Bob is doing...which 5 have you decided on Bob? So Bob's decided on the Piaggio/or the Curtiss R3c 6. David/balsafliesbetter...Moraine Saulnier Type H 7. Neal is doing the Savoia S13 8. John is doing the 1913 Deperdussin Anyone else want to join the fun? Please feel free to join us!!! Tom

	Well Bob...if we've got a year to wind 'er up...might as well count me into this group. I think that'll be enough time. Scanning all the choices...like Terry, I'm a bit averse to hanging floats under an airplane...especially a single float at the tail. So...I'm considering something from Savoia, a boat with wings. The only thing that bothers me about the design is the long motor stick hanging out front. Can't imagine packing many turns onto a stick without it twisting considerably. But then...ability to fly or not has never been much of a concern to me in the past. 	I guess I got caught with a bug. I am working on rotating and resizing parts of the Piaggio PC-7 plan, aiming at 14" W/S. But it will likely be a quick and dirty build, or won't get finished. ian

	Progress! I blew the 3 views to a 20" span. I got a little pixelated but enough for reference. Not sure if I want to draw it in CAD or go old school. CAD is so fast and easy to modify, but I Love reading mechanical drawings by hand. I'll see how I feel tomorrow night. David

	I finally made up my mind tonight on the Moraine Saulnier Type H, fitted with floats, that flew in the 1st Cup. No plans around, but I found some decent 3 views and a plethora of photos and details I've been filing away these past couple evenings. Now to get to work on some drawings!! David

	Terry, Ive found a 60" RC plan of the Sopwith Schneider that could be down sized or the 2-3 Sopwith Baby plans for FF if the are able to be used as a base for the Schneider. I just found a Tabloid plan, but have not looked at it to see if you would be able to use. For myself I will keep the Curtiss R3 plan nearby if the Piaggio proves to be too much of a pain. Bob

	I have to admit this cook-up didn't interest me initially, with two unfinished projects (P-40 won't fly, needs a prop and P-38 needs two prop's) and I didn't fancy the construction, weight and drag of pontoons. But, I did look around a bit and the Sopwith Tabloid (or was it Sopwith Schneider?) was a race winner and really caught my eye. I can't imagine finishing by the end of the holidays but what the heck. These Cook-up's are FUN. The races were wildly popular in their time. Now, are there plans out there? Dime scale or up to 20" wings span? Terry
