Terry, it will be painted with two coats of nitrate dope then at least a coat of SIG SUPERCOAT SILVER.

Bob,

The P-38 is looking great, really captures the imagination!  Will it be painted?

Bob,
Good looking P-38.  I'd be sure to put some locktight on that set screw.

The rudders and engine fire walls are attached, the lead out has been finished.

The push rod is in two segments with a collar  to adjust the bellcrank to the control horn. (THANKS BILL for this idea.)

Looking fantastic Bob.  You've really been bitten by the CL Bug.  It's great!!!  I assume you'll be using fuel proof dope to finish off this beauty.  Silver or Camo?
Tom

I will use SIG SUPERCOAT SILVER, but I am not sure what or how to apply the national markings or surface lines.

I am slowly putting this P-38 together, some more parts came today so maybe it will finally come to fruition soon.

The engine nacelles are attached and aligned plus the center section also is attached.

Now to attach the firewalls and paint.

Sig order came the other day and I now started covering the wing and attached the stab to the right nacelle.

Had to search my mind for how to attach the silk/sig coverall to the wing.

Ah the joys of connecting controls...and working out the clearances.  Glad you've had success.  Hope that's all the challenges you run into.

Two days of trying to figure out how to redo one lead out with out removing the bellcrank to no avail finally success Cheesy after removing the bellcrank and replacing the lead out.

initially one lead was too close to the bellcrank and would not allow travel in one direction to full. Angry

I received my order from SIG, so I was able to continue on the stab/elevator:

1. SIG: PRO HINGE (it was so easy to install)
2. The first hinge.
3. All four hinges slid into their slot.
4. Elevator pushed together and glued with CA.
5. I pinned each hinge with 1 toothpick glued in-place.
6. Control Horn top over plywood.
