	After seeing your photos, I had to share my "lawn dart" from the early 1970's. This was my Nobler. My pride and joy. I gave a demo to the Junior High School when I was in 7th grade. Then one day the lines caught a weed between me and the plane on take off. Up and over and straight into the ground

	Ouch!!!! Unfortunately been there and couldn't salvage the engine. Fox engines seem to be pretty tough! I enjoyed the couple that I had. But sometimes hardpan dirt even beats Fox!!!! Don't ask!!!! Better luck next time!!! Tom

	John - it must have been pretty bad if there is no pic ... Glad you didn't lose everything. If it is any consolation, I have been planting Free Flight models all summer - I was told that they "are just flesh wounds" ... You still have the *best pic* of your planted Lightning Streak in your first post ! ... LWM

	Same thing happened, again! This time the Lightning Streak didn't survive. Went from full up elevator to full down for the second half of a lazy eight, and it didn't respond. Went straight in at full song. Total destruction. Oh well. Saved the Fox and all of the hardware, the rest went in the trash. All it did to the engine was break the prop and the needle valve. Had another needle, but the supply is dwindling. Have to quit doing this. John

	Just had to replace the needle valve. (Had one) And the prop, of course. Lots of cleaning, too. Already back together and ready to go. John

	Thanks, Lastwoodsman This "landing" happened when I mistimed the second half of a lazy 8, and the plane ended up over my head and out of sight behind the visor of my hat! Never lost line tension, but by the time I had the plane in sight again it was too late for a recovery. At least no one was hurt (me!!!) and the ground was pretty soft. It, and the Shoestring that I crashed the same day are both repaired and ready to go. I also had a Cox rtf, a PT-19, with the .049, when I was seven years old. (I'm 64 now) It didn't survive long, but I still have the .049. Don't know how many profile balsa 1/2a kits it has powered over the years. It's currently in a Baby Ringmaster. Still runs great.

	Hi JWW - THAT is a REAL PLANT !!! I tried to plant a Cox .049 plastic Stuka control line when I was a kid - decided to try a loop - only got 3/4 of the loop - would not plant though in the hard packed baseball diamond gravel - the .049 engine ended up 30 yards away from touchdown !! SMASHED TO SMITHEREENS !! Glad you got no permanent damage - GREAT PIC, by the way ... purtiest planted plane I ever saw ...
