Working on making pulley masters for casting if I am lucky I will be able to manufacture these as well, if everything goes well a kit would have all mechanical parts pre made and ready for final assembly.  Smiley

Some pictures of my earlier helicopters from the 80's and 90's, they are blurry due to scanning old photos.

Glad you got your mojo back...I hear you, sometimes you just have to jump start it!  That's been me with the Roland CII.  Life has a way of doing this to us!

Hello All,

Sorry for my absents on this, just have had no drive to build much but I need to get back on track here.

I am trying out some new casting material to make gears, gear box and maybe even the pulleys and more?

I should start casting this weekend and I will go from there, pictures coming soon.  Smiley

DITTO what Tom stated. I really like these photos showing the gears, bushings, box, and shafts. This finally gives me a picture of what and how you accomplish your choppers.

Here is a close up of the gear box and parts used in it's construction, Top view drawings almost complete, enough to start making the formers for the fuselage now.

The gear box is made out of a variety of material, box is made from 1/16" balsa and sheeted with 1/32" ply.
Beveled gears are custom ordered, the rest is just brass eyelets, brass washers, nylon washers, styrene tubing and 3/32" DIA aluminum tubing. Takes me an hour to 2 hours to make one.  Smiley will post a close up of gear box and parts that are used tomorrow.

Cheers, Ray K.

What and how do you make your boxes for the gears?  This looks very interesting.
