Outstanding Ray!  I hope you'll do a tutorial some day on the rotor blades and how they're made and finished.  This is really something!

Thanks Tom, I am trying to make these as easy as possible to build, I am thinking of doing an early bird series to start with, pioneering helicopters, Bell, Sikorsky, Piasecki, ect, then move on to military and civilian helicopters.

Here is were I am at right now, windshield on and rotor blades made just need to finish sealing them and final assembly.

Cheers, Ray K.

Hi Tom, Thanks, I did notice something else I would change, I did another comparative measurement and the main rotor mast is to high, this needs to be cut down around 1 inch shorter, this is easily done on my model and I will have this corrected when I get home from work tonight. Wink Depending on how the tail rotor acts I may be able to cut down on the DIA of the tail rotor as well, this will help reduce some weight in the tail, again we shall see.

Cheers, Ray K.

I think you/and your new pilot are going to be pleased with this chopper!  Looks fantastic.  Good luck on the maiden!

Almost done, just need windshield and main rotor blades and she is ready to fly, Sunday?

If I were to change anything on this model I would move the main gear one bay up right behind pilot, the reason for this is because with the nose plug in place the model tips over onto it's nose, it is not nose heavy it is because the main gear is right at the C/G, I did not see this until it was to late for my model but when I finalize the plans this change will be incorporated. My model will have to have a thin wire in the nose like a skid wire to prevent the model from tipping onto it's nose before take off.  Smiley

Ray,
He definitely looks like he's enjoying the flight!!!  But you didn't have to change him for me!  I'm sure he was just being a serious test pilot for the first flight!!! Smiley
