Nice shot, Dave, of your Hurricane Racer.  Could the UFO be a daytime partial moon? Good to see someone else taking advantage of a spot of good winter weather.

Al inspired me with his pictures today, to go out back, and do a little flying. Thought while I was out there, I'd try to take a better picture. Complete with UFO in hot pursuit. Sorry about the delay on the PBY Catalina build guys. Work has me busy, and what time I do get, I'm working on RC repairs getting ready for spring.

Nice flight shot, Dave.  The cloud and tree background coupled with the reduced light conditions add a lot of drama to the scene.  Amazing to me, is that from start of this build to first flight took only two and a half weeks.  Looks like simplicity in construction and tether flying worked very well for you on this project.  Well done.

Hi Dave - I really like that pic - it's a bird ... it's a plane ... it's a Hurricane with trouser wheel pants and a Radial Engine!!!   Smiley Great looking silhouette against that perfect cloud and blue sky and treed backdrop.  Shocked  Really shows the shape of the plane and your tether line.  Wink

Good color combo. Interesting creation. Modifying existing plans into an entirely different character is a challenge. Well done!  Smiley

Nicely done, Dave.  You've given me a couple of ideas with your treatment of the radial engine and the landing gear that I will use on some future swing control models in the planning stage.  Nice paint job, looks good.

Dave that's a sharp-looking bird!  The fixed gear, radial and color scheme came together very nicely - well done.

Getting there. Need to paint and install the spinner, adjust CG, and fabricate the attach point for tether flying. Next picture will be in the air.

What a surprise, another mock up. Covered it, shortened the gear, and glued the tail on. Undecided on a tail wheel, guess technically it should have one. Might try to shorten the gear even more. There's no prop going on it, because it is a tether flyer, just a spinner. So I guess the prop clearing the ground is not an issue. Going to let it dry for several days before beginning paint. So I guess I'll be starting my Boeing P-26 winter cookup build. Decided against the red, white, and blue paint scheme. I think I am going to go with red with white trim.

Dave, I'm impressed by how quickly this build is coming along.  And the construction looks very nice.
