This particular motor was developed for FAI duration (F1k), where the only restrictions are the tank volume (3cc) and wing area (186in˛).  It is also a fairly heavy bugger @ 16 grams w/o prop.

A 30in span model or bipe of similar size would probably be OK, but will be somewhat hampered by the small tank.

It seems you are right the motor is way to big.[img]
Probably use on another build. My question now is if this lets say was for a 30 inch wingspan could I use it on let's say a biplane of less wing span but equal wings in square inch area?

The "preferred" size for a peanut scale model is the Gasparin G24 or 28.  I'm not familiar with the GMW73 (is it a Gasparin or G-Mot?), but assume that it would be a bit too much, both in physical size and power.

Could you include a photo of the motor specs?
