I use UHU Hart, usually mixed @50% with the acetone from the local big box outlets.  When I can get some of the GOOD acetone (Auto paint shops or sailplane/small aircraft manufacturers), I can usually up the acetone to 60-70%.

General store acetone varies immensely in quality.

I was down in the basement yesterday and noticed that the humidity seemed to have gone down. I shot some glue on scarp balsa and let it dry. Everything seems back to normal. I added the last of the Duco to what was in the bottle and moved on. I'm sticking with my original idea. Too much acetone plus high humidity equals "glue blush". Whether that is bad or not I'm not sure but if moisture in the glue is good, then I suspect the folks at Duco would already be adding to their formula.

Speaking of glue. I have not been in the "workshop" for a couple of weeks or so and thought that I would add a couple of drops to the glue "just in case" some of the acetone had evaporated. Then when I used it, I found that the glue turning a milky white as it dried. Great, now what? I eventually concluded that I had added way to much acetone. My guess is that the excess acetone goes off just quick enough to lower the surface temperature of the glue trapping condensing moisture. Sort of like "dope blush" in the old days. It is pretty humid in the basement just now. So should I pitch the glue and try another tube of Duco?? The Duco/plastic bottle applicator combination was working great until last night. If anybody has a better theory I would love to hear it.
