As luck would have it, not being able to produce any decals has turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  When detailing the cockpit interior, I had no idea exactly what size each stencil, data plate, or instrument face, switch, lever or dial  was to be until I commenced to the build of that particular accessory. Because I was modeling "outside of the box," there were no direct references or templates for me to use.  It was all done by eyeballing in proportion each accessory with the next for reference.  For example, photos or CGI artistic renderings of the cockpit were often produced from an isometric  overview rather than a squared-on profile in which each accessory could accurately be either measured or at least more directly compared to the next.   For example, when building the throttle quadrant, things could vary in size by as little as 1/16 - 1/32" and sometimes details such as mixture controls, throttle handle or propeller lever even more tight.  Thus, I had no choice but to produce images of the same thing but in slightly different sizes in increments of 1/64".

I ended up with no less than a dozen pictures of throttle quadrant bodies.  Each body varied in size, color tone and in crispness of detail.  Then there were dozens of prints of the radiator coolant control panel, dozens of  trim wheels, radio panels, and so on.   To produce a decal for each accessory and then adjust for differences in size would've been a mess.

I've made some very good progress on the right side panel.  It's really a matter of picking out which image from the dozens of pictures I took and cutting them out.

I just posted a squared-on view of the left side.  The cable from the throttle is excessively long on purpose as I don't know how much is needed by the time I install the left panel in the cockpit with everything else.  I believe this cable is for the pilot to communicate on the radio judging from the mic that is embedded at the tip of  the throttle.  I'm currently on the landing gear lever & hope to have it ready by this weekend.  I'll post the results. 

I'm now focused on the right side and will start posting as I go along.  I'm hoping all of this will be useful to you and everyone who visits this build thread.  At least, this has been a learning experience for me.

Next came the throttle locking control.  This mechanism is located within the center of the lower portion of the quadrant body. 

If you can recall how small some of these details were.  The 3rd picture shows the whole assembly zoomed up close.

Then I thought you might be interested to see just how small this stuff really is when viewed in scale with my left hand.......
