Riving balsa sheets

I hadn't heard of riving before and just what it meant.  I found this on HPA and can see many benefits in making longerons and stringers for fuselages.  David Lofthouse talks about this process in his Thalman T-4 build in the Free Flight Scale board, reply #3.  It has to do with finding the grain of a 36" sheet and the grain doesn't always run parallel with the length of the sheet.
