RayK is the heli guru and it's been his baby and when he had the components together I believe he was going to furnish a plan and drive components to those who wanted to participate.  In the past Ray has had some health isssues and I haven't heard from him lately.  I trust that he is ok and that life has gotten in the way of his hobby time.  Anyone else know of RayK and how he's doing?

Hi All,

I have been watching this cookup with great interest for some time but it seems to have stalled. Is there any update or change in the situation?

Thanks

Sorry! That I did not get in on this cookup. Just too many things going on at the moment.

I looked through the posts and was amazed at all of the ingenuity and thought in what I saw in the photos.

Nice unit, Ray!  Are you going to try the system out on a stick platform before (or during) building the full-bodied version?

1st unit is done, it works but is clunky, need to fine tune this a bit.

Cool Ray. Can't wait to try this. I'm heading to the weak signal Toledo Ohio show next weekend. Never know what you will find in the swap shop.

Here are some drawings to show you how each coupler is set up.

Note, coupler # 3 has the pen end cap and rubber hook drive wire, the pinning hole location is slightly off center, this allows the drive wire shaft to be center when it is hooked onto the pin, a small hook is bent on the drive wire and is slipped over the installed pin and inserted thru the center hole drilled in the end cap, 5 minute epoxy is used to fill the inside of the end cap where the hooked part of the wire is and a balsa core plug is inserted inside tube on top of this, make sure it is center and turns true before epoxy sets up all the way.

Cheers, Ray K.
