Mike, after years of constructing the fuse in my hand and then using what ever was at hand to be the 90 degree angle just became too much trouble  and still fixing the fuselage later after bad attempts.

So, I saw a photo on HPA of some one using the steel angles gave me an idea that I had seen Bob Holman's wood angles some where and purchased some. Best investment Ive made to date.

Bob - I see you are using the method I discovered for truss fuselages in putting up one side, adding the cross members to the bottom and bring the other side up to it, (no claim to originality here, necessity is the mother of invention) glue all in place. I always had problems reaching down inside the frame to add the bottom cross members, hands not steady enough and no room and the fuselage usually got beat up. That's how I got rewarded the Stringer and Cross Member award.

The fuselage box is straight forward and builds fast. I will probably add another wing spar, but on the bottom for some added stiffness since I have had problems with wings not being strong enough for my taste.

After coming back to stick and tissue aircraft in 2003 Ive found that I LOVE Dime Scale and Embryo. They are fun to build and most fly good even with little trimming.

Plus they do not take up too much materials or too much space in the apartment.

Mike, I have been looking at one to the new generation cameras that would fit on my cap to take videos.

Bob - This looks like it would be a great flyer. Thinking you could wrap this up before your other projects get under way again. Looking forward to a couple of videos of your flights.

Nice Bob!  I have a Lee's Scimitar embryo kit that I keep pulling out and looking at - need to take a break from scale sometime and build it.

We are getting back to regular FAC meetups on the second Saturday of each month.  There have been a couple folks down from Austin for the meets recently - it would be great if you could join us sometime for some flying.

Cheers,

Mike

While waiting on a couple of items for the belt sander (friends to help move an old desk outside and another 36" x 16" board) to finish the cowl for the Earl Stahl F4F, sanding the canopy plugs for the Joe Ott P-51 and the Holicek Bf 109, I just could not sit and do nothing.

So I started an embryo: HONEY BEE build.
