jdin,

You live in Palmdale, CA?  That's a stone's throw away from the Edwards AFB and about 50 miles northeast of L.A.  I used to drive through there all the time; both as a big rig driver and on my way to the airshows at Edwards.

zt used to be such a small town and almost overnight grew exponentially into a major metropolitan city.

Actually they were made in 5 different plants, San Diego, Fort Worth TX,Willow Run, Grande Prairie TX and Tulsa OK. Of 18,500 made ford built 4,600. I watched this video and really didn't see any thing that looked like the pic.

But it was fun researching.

Ford's Willow Run production line.

You are saying it's a Ford plant, the guy at the table said Boeing. I'll have to look it up.
Thanks

In the 70's some war birds were at Boeing field for the week end. I got a souvenir pic of the war time production line for B 24's
